I feel so sad for her, but she also has to understand how her daughter feels. The mom has always known the daughter was kidnapped but Kamayah is just learning that her whole life was a lie. Now the only mother she’s known is in prison and she’s hurt, angry, confused and probably feels alone. She’s going to lash out and it’s not fair to her to cut off communication with the only mother she’s known. Her mom is right it is a lose lose situation for her. They should’ve started the relationship slow and with a ton of prayer and counseling, separately and together.

My first poor attempt at writing a novel was in 1989. The name of the novel is Genesis of Terror. It ends with an airplane attack. I still have all the pages to it though they are yellowed and faded, they are still legible. This short excerpt is about when Morgan, the main character, and Patrick escaped from the Dozier School in Marianna, Florida They had been beaten to bloody pulp and were now on the run. Setting is early 1960s in racist, KKK, north Florida. When applying for a position teaching English in Saudi Arabia, I was required to submit summaries of manuscripts I had written in the target language. I sent them a few paragraphs about The Last Great Bicycling Tour, 160,000 words in full, some information on an academic writing project, about 200,000 words, and I gave a short description of Genesis Of Terror, about 60,000 words in full. Genesis of Terror ends with using a commandeered, fuel-laden, aircraft loaded with explosives to attack and demolish a government complex. This summary I sent was what started the discussion of the possibility of recruiting for such a mission, and actually doing it. This below is one small excerpt of Genesis of Terror. Morgan and Patrick have just escaped from the horrors of the Florida school for boys at Marianna. They are desperate and have come upon a lone house in the woods. "Patrick, listen to me. What I told you before about my being in this place for different reasons than you guys. Well that was all true. I'm not a criminal. I did something to get sent there but it's not what you think. Bullshit, said Patrick. There's not a guy in The joint who was guilty. They were all railroaded. There's no bullshit to it said Morgan. He now felt a twinge of anxiety at his prospects of getting away. Not even Patrick believed him. Okay said Morgan, I'll steal food and clothing but I'm not breaking in. He spoke with a tone of finality. Wait here said Patrick. He leaped to his feet, then sprinted across the grassy clearing and got behind a large oak tree. He walked to a window of the house where he looked inside. Walking to another window he looked inside again. He disappeared around the back of the house reappearing on the other side. Morgan in a crouch watched shaking his head from side to side. Pat raised his arms as if to signal the coast is clear. He walked up Three wooden steps to turn the front door handle. The door opened. First he stuck his head in and looked side to side. He pulled his head out turned and motioned for Morgan to come ahead. Morgan held his position. He would take no part in illegally entering another person's house but neither would he desert his friend. Pat disappeared inside the house. Then came a sound like a firecracker, one crisp clear clean pop. Morgan lay low watching the house. Patrick fell backwards through the door, down the steps, on to the ground, his head bouncing off the hard packed Earth of the door yard. A man appeared in the doorway holding a snub-barreled 22 caliber pistol. Morgan recognized him immediately. It was the one armed man, Herman patch. Patrick had been shot in the forehead above the bridge of the nose. Patch stepped into the yard scanning the area around his house. Morgan knew Pat was dead. He leaped to his feet then flew away in a crouch. When completely out of eyesight he ran upright at full speed. Slowing only when too winded for running at full speed, he dropped from exhaustion in 2 hours. He lay asleep for several hours at the mercy of the nats, mosquitoes and the chill of the night air. When he awoke he found himself in a warm patch of morning sunlight that filtered through the trees. The bed of leaves was soft. He sat up taking account of his physical condition. He felt his deeply bruised buttocks. The scabs had broken open during the exertion. They used a gooey red liquid. His body was racked with pain. He was dehydrated. The memory of Pat's murder, now springing back into his memory, burned in his mind. He knew he must find water and food to go on. His body fatigued, he set out on bloodied bare feet in the direction of the Sun. He kept to the most heavily wooded areas being careful to avoid cropped Fields where he could be seen from a distance. 5 hours later he was wary, about to drop, when he spotted a farmhouse at one corner of a cultivated piece of land. He lay prostrate in the bush until dark. He then approached the house being careful to follow the treeline for concealment. Reply
