This is Dobie instinct, you can tell this Dobie is a family dog and not trained for protection. This is why this breed is brilliant, it's natural instincts are instantly go mode and they rarely will bark which is even funnier. If that was a trained Dobie in terms of protection training first of all the burglar would not have got near the fence nor would he have escaped, it would have been a very very tragic day for the burglars family. Dobies, German Shepherds and Rottys are the best when you factor in their size, intimidation factor, instincts and lastly but most importantly their intelligence. A bullmastiff is too big of a breed and while they are equally incredible for protecting a family they are much heavier and slower breeds and the burglar would have escaped. Lastly the pit breed or any type of pit are not what you want, yes they can handle business absolutely but their not as intelligent and their prey drive would make the job in hand too much of a problem for any owner.

I have 3 German shepherds and they wouldn't have had let him get close to the fence. Rottweiler and doberman are different though, they let the intruder in first and then attack. GSD on the other hand warns you to not get close to its territory but if you persist then they will attack. I personally feel GSD to be safe for others. They have comparatively serious personality which I prefer.

I love dobermans. You know the dogs real response to the burglar "SURPRISE BITCH!" Then just runs in circles singing "can't touch this! Na na na na!"

The only reason why the Doberman didn't shred the burglar into pieces was because the moron shit himself and smelled so bad that even the Doberman found appalling.

I've never met a nice doberman they're all nasty and always want to tear me to shreds. I've met and known pit bulls 100x cooler then dobermans. One time we rented a house and the owner of the houses son had his ear and his calf ripped off by their own doberman so yeah F these dogs.

Doberman are definitely a well balanced guard dog not because of just size, but speed too. So if a theif, that happens to be athletic, tries to make off with your valuables - they're likely gonna gas out after a minute enough for the Dobie to lock in.
