Fun fact his film Mary and Max was actually loosely based on true events from Adam Elliot himself since when he was 8 years old he decided to write to a random person living in America and just like Max the guy he wrote to has autism fortunately this is where the similarities end where Max detested Mary's book the Directors penpal actually did enjoy the film and more fortunately the Directors penpal is still alive
