Just curious if you had to account gaps being different from carpet to vinyl for hatches? Maybe you said it in the video and I missed it.

You rivetted the wood floor ?
@Tiamu-df4mh3 жыл бұрын
They did a nice job on the floor and trim BUT...the new floor will soon be black moldy and rot again because they put the new floor back on top of the waterlogged foam from LUND. The foam LUND used was open cell foam and holds water inside forever. When I did my floor I noticed that foam was wet inside so I left the boat in direct sunlight for a week with the old floor removed so the foam was literally baking in the sun, which did nothing towards drying it, out so I left it in the sun for another week and it was still soaking wet inside the foam. Just for the hell of it I kept one piece of that junk foam in my garage even after replacing the foam and the floor and it never did dry out. I threw it away after a month still wet inside.

HI guys great video.....I am replacing floors in my Lund Angler. I have my vinyl glue and Nautolex marine vinyl purchased. Can you tell me what you use to prepare your plywood...what type of sealer or is it epoxy resin?? Did you have to sand it to get vinyl glue to stick to it? Was gonna use outdoor/marine paint but don't think its the right product to do it right. Any assistance appreciated.

Bullshit boat. Full of weak rivets that after few years are leaking. And the deck made of wood not impregnated with polyurethane resin and the effects you can see in the movie. Bottom is a 1.8 mm aluminium. WTF? You can push it inside with the finger. Hit 50 times in the little bigger wave and the bottom getting dents so the rivets starts leaking. My friend has Lund 1855. It is too expensive for a river boat. Only full double side welded aluminium boats made the rules. All the rest is a fuckin calm lakes boats. Lund looks good but it is very weak boat.

Can you tell what kind of cover system that is? never seen one like that. Beats putting two sawhorses in the boat every time!

Thanks this is great and inspiring! I'm about to redo the carpet surfaces on my Lund Alaskan SSV, I do love the thing. There are probably several carpet providers, I like the light gray color you chose, can you please provide the manufacturer and model? How much do you recommend I order, I'll probably order more than you did. Finally, do you have a suggestion on the standard staple length size you like. I subscribed and look forward to seeing more of your work. Many thanks from coastal Maine

Was there no need to fiberglass on the inside mount ?? Is it sturdy enough
@jspropmarine14554 жыл бұрын
Hey Jo, we did Reinforce the inside of the boat with Treated Plywood and Fiberglass Body filler (it's just hard to see in the video from that angle as he is basically inside the boat for all of that work). Some boats are sturdy enough but we usually prefer to reinforce.

Oh ok sounds good thank you for your reply. I just received my tower and was wanting to also fiberglass over wood backer board. Just really nervous and hope it goes good !!

How did you drill the rivet holes without destroying the carpet?
@jspropmarine14555 жыл бұрын
Our Vinyl and Carpet is Glued on VERY Tightly (using some rather expensive Glue made for Marine Carpet & Vinyl) and it doesn't loose too much material. With Carpet you will lose a little bit of Carpet strands and you just have to trim that little bit off.

We enjoyed our new Caravelle Razor for one wonderful day, it was destroyed by a collision by another drunk boater. Construction of the Razor saved our lives. Sadly I don't seen them on the market anymore.

Is it really expensive to replace the carpet?
@jspropmarine14555 жыл бұрын
It can be costly, but you have to think of it as re-investing into your boat. If you want your boat to last another 10+ years then it is worth it.

You mentioned a length of 19'6" with removable swim platform. Is that overall length with the platform removed and on the trailer or just with the platform removed (no trailer)?
@jspropmarine14557 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I didn't see your question until now... 19'6" is WITH the PLATFORM. If you remove the Platform the length is 17'6"

what did you use for the boards?
@jspropmarine14558 жыл бұрын
+brad elsberry We used some composite grooved outdoor deck board (keeps cost and weight down while being non-slip and minimizing maintenance).
