There is crime all over in any city, intown and suburbs. What YOU do as a resident helps,and if you are not connected to others doing the same trying to make it a better place you will feel a disconnect and the crime on vacant properties could cause you to feel the location to be a "crime hub" . Your "panic" comment is very untrue and a sign of someone unfamiliar with the community and probably take what your hear from the media as law.
