I only just come across this on your website. I don't know how many seeds I've had from you not knowing how they were packed 😉 always a delight to open a packet, will be more so now😀

@beng711
@beng711 Ай бұрын
the depth of the boards is 7cm. La medida de profundidad es 7 cm. No es crucial, pero si lo haces mucho más grande necesitarás mucha más succión.
@vocesdelpasado8994
@vocesdelpasado8994 Ай бұрын
@@beng711 si, eso estaba pensando, que entre más profundidad tenga el mueble, más succión va a requerir. Entonces 7 cm es lo adecuado. Te agradezco muchísimo la inflamación!

I have made a machine on similar principles ,but due to the funnel concentraighting the seed into a dense uneven stream im thinking a zig zag piece of wood a few inches below the funnel might spread the seed more evenly and get a more even effect as it enters the airflow. Isnt it satisfying to make a machine that works.😊

You have ruined the mystique for me, I had thought that you guys had some little helpers, elves, fairies something like that to pack and process the seeds for lucky customers, but you have this glorious machine instead. It is just that the very unique design of the seed packets that I really appreciate.

What is the effect of acetic acid solution over Toato Brown Rugose Virus, please can some one explain please ??????????
@beng711
@beng711 9 ай бұрын
Acetic Acid - that's vinegar - has no effect on TBFRV. This is a demo for professional seed producers using weak Hydrocholric Acid to sterilise and extract tomato seed. Unless you are planning to sell your seed, you do not need to know any of the information in thsi video.

Can it be performed with the help of acetic acid (diluted) solution in place of hydrochlic acid ??????????
@beng711
@beng711 9 ай бұрын
No, it cannot, at all. It is a much less powerful acid. 5% vinegar would take aabout a week to have any effect. By this time the seeds will have germinated.

What a brilliant machine, smooth running and labour saving, couldn't imagine doing all that by hand. Proper engineering and such longevity, don't see much of that these days. How much time did it take you to learn how to use it and overhaul it?

about a year to be able to set it up easily to pack a batch of seed, and another to be able to learn how to overhaul and repair it!

Brilliant video although I would recommend 3 additional steps when handling acid!! • Instead of plain water for emergency acid spills, use a solution of sodium bicarbonate and water as this will neutralise the acid rather than spreading it around and diluting it! • After pouring acid from the container you must ALWAYS clean the acid residue from the container side, base and around the screw top! • When you put your tomato and acid solution into a food type container like a food jar you must label it with acid clearly so nobody has a surprise Bloody Mary 😂

I love your "Brown Bag Filling Machine!" Far more elegant and fascinating to watch than it's given title! A fascinating engineering masterpiece rather than a few computer controlled robotic arms. We've already bought a decent seed bank from you and will be ordering more soon, it's a pleasure to buy from a group of caring gardeners trying to help the world, rather than a big company driven by profits! Much respect and gratitude to you all! ♥️

Hello, these are nice. I wish someone would make a small one for home use that would separate debris from wild bird seed. Mainly black oil sunflower seed. That would be awesome and I have read so many people needing something like that.

In case anyone else was curious, the regulations in question seem to be (EU) 2019/2072, in particular Annex V Part E which requires acid extraction or an equivalent method in relation to tomato seeds. The intention seems to be to prevent the presence of Clavibacter michiganensis bacteria.
@beng711

The EU regulations were adopted into UK Law so apply here too. But DEFRA haven't worried too much about it in the past. However...
@beng711
@beng711 3 жыл бұрын
The current worry is actually Tomato Brown Rugose Virus, which is killed by the HCL treatment. There is emergency legislation in place to try and stop its spread, and that is being enforced.

Do you have any tips or advice on the precise location for the adjustable air holes please, and what size to make them? It's the only detail missing from your plans and I want to make sure I do them correctly. Thanks!
@93mclaren
@93mclaren Жыл бұрын
The size and number aren't terribly important. I just made 2 large ones and a small one and then just adjusted the airflow to my shop vac. If you are getting too much suction with all of them open, just add another hole.
