@@jamessefton7369 yes you do in my opinion as it gives stability to the light ring and offers a level base for the cameras to calibrate on. If I'm honest I don't think it will function properly without one

Iv been looking at buying a scolia system the last few days I couldn’t get my head around why this set up is £500 and then the other is £750 glad iv watched this video so basically they charge you a extra £250 for unlimited play and with the £500 system you have to pay the £10 monthly subscription a month

Yes mate the flex gives you 1000 darts a month for free then it's £10 a month if you want to throw more. The home is unlimited

@@jstones9872 I'll be honest with you if you play soft tip go with a Granboard. In the states your community will be a lot bigger as the Scolia hasn't really peaked in the states yet. Whereas there is a huge community for the Granboard and great streaming platforms check out bullseyes and brewskis on Facebook

I have this board and am super disappointed with the plastic on the scoreboard. It's super brittle. Someone , not me, throwing darts at it broke the scoreboard the first day. Going to see how we can throw some plexiglass over it to protect it.

Unfortunately these are the kind of things we can't cover with a review without taking a hammer to the board. If you speak to the retailer where you purchased the board they should replace it as that seems like a QC issue

No generally this isn't a board that's set up to play medleys it's kind of a one and done. If I'm honest if you're looking to get into soft tip properly I'd look into getting a Granboard you can pick up the dash for a reasonable price or go all in on the 3s :-)

Yes mate if you contact St Helens Dart shop they even make what's called a switch up set up which is a back board that takes a granboard and a steel tip board. You can also buy a granstand specifically for a granboard

It can do the only thing I would suggest is to just tighten to a pinch don't over tighten the point into the grip as it will mark the point. Less is more get it to a place where there is no movement and stop :-)

These darts seem to land, flights high but your board forces the shaft to angle differently upon entering the board.

The main reason for that is because the tip has to go into an aperture in soft tip so it will adjust itself to a straight angle automatically. In a bristle board it will stay flight high as the angle of entry isn't adjusted by the board itself

You made a statement that slow launch dart throwers should add weight to their darts. This actually will be adding a pendulum effect to the throw and slow down the already slow launch. You can't do that. Slow throwers shouldn't increase weight. They should lengthen the darts. They'll release at the same speed as before but this time the darts are better at flying in a straighter flight arc. Heavy weighted darts increase throwing variables. People need to graduate to heavier darts from a consistent throw from standard darts.

My first repoint was terrifying, but my fear was unjustified, it’s really easy. I even put a layer of grease on the shaft of the points before I tried, but it really isn’t necessary. I installed those Mission points on a set of darts just a few weeks ago. They’re amazing. Thanks for the video!

Is anyone else out there wishing this was identical in size (especially the trebles and doubles) to a regulation steel board? Why don't any manufacturers figure out that a quality board shouldn't just invent it's own arbitrary sized targets... Are they looking for an excuse to invalidate all the practice steel players might put in on it, or is there a legitimate reason? Maybe the "Grandboard 4" will be true Regulation size? Do any steel players find these differences annoying when going back to steel, or is it easy to overlook? Will one appear better than reality with those giant trebles on the Grandboard?

Hi I am new to softtip, I was wondering about something I can't wrap my head around. Most of the boards I was checking out say that they recommend you to only throw up to a max of 16g dart at. Why is it that the vast majority of softtip available is 18g/20g when you can only supposably throw a 16g without damaging the board? Am I missing something?

Generally a 20g dart is usable on all soft tip boards. The reason for the limitations is to help prolong the life of the matrix and your board in general :-)

My recommendation is to purchase an android box a webcam and a wireless mouse hook all of these up and you can use it on whatever TV you want. If you message Granboard via their website they will reccomend the best box for the country you live in.

For Designa I have read that a lot of different companies have turned barrels for them, even Target. Great darts, Razor V2 for soft tip and Crusader V2-M2 steel tip for me. Great review sir.

I love the look of these but the barrels are so heavy. How quickly would someone break segments on their board due to the weight? Don’t Granboard and Arachnid BullShooter boards only allow up to 25gm darts?

100% like I said in the review the demo will be the only time I would use them on my homeboard ... Commercial boards can handle the heavier barrels but I wouldn't risk it on a granboard

Hey buddy thanks for the question. There are multiple boards out there with different pros and cons, but my advice would be to go for a granboard if you want to enter the online community. If you just want a board to mess about with at home then the cheaper boards are fine Viper are the better brand for an offline board. But as far as online boards go it's the Granboard all day long
