Where can I go to get this done and how much does it cost?

Hi Tim, Our store is at 521 - 58 Ave Se, Calgary, AB, Canada. We would need to see the ski to quote and assess whether we are willing to work on it. Sometimes we decline to do the work if we think it would be unsafe. Give us a shout 1-866-955-0917 or email me some photos? Andrew [email protected]

I am trying to repair an Old 1960’s Wooden Fred Williams water ski to display on my wall. It was made long before they started using fiberglass and resin. How would I fix a crack in the camber? I had someone suggest automotive body filler but that would be quite noticeable after I varnish the wood.

Hello! I would probably bring that classic ski to someone that specializes in restoring old wood. The above repair video is definitely more geared at repairing some of the newer skis made from carbon, fibreglass, pvc, polyurethane, etc. Old wood can be finicky and would hate to give you advice and have it not work out the way you intend! Good luck and have fun!!!

Hi! I got a little cut in the very back of the ski which exposes the inside, for now I’ve taped it but can it be patched and is it bad if water gets inside?
@shuswapsnb
@shuswapsnb Жыл бұрын
Hi! Please seal that cut up with some two part epoxy! Your ski will be ok but you definitely do not want to let too much water inside the core. The tape is a good idea for a quick fix if you have to keep skiing that day but it will prolong the life of your ski if you seal it properly. :) I like to dry out the ski for a few days inside the warm house before I seal it up with the two part epoxy. Good luck and ski you later!

How do I repair a chip on the ski? Great DIY video btw
@shuswapsnb
@shuswapsnb 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! A small chip can be sealed with some two part epoxy. Take some sand paper afterwards and smooth it out. If the repair is on the edge... try to keep the edge shape the same as best you can. Start with like 120 grit - then 240 - then some 320 wet/dry sandpaper to get that nice smooth finish after the epoxy hardens. Less is more, you dont need a lot - just seal it a bit! Good luck! Ski hard - have fun :) - Andrew

Hi! I need to repair an insert that the screw broke in the insert. Do you recommend to remose the problematic insert or to drill a new hole and install a new insert. What kind of insert should I use? The screws are 10-32 but I don't know which length. Thanks for your help!
@shuswapsnb
@shuswapsnb 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Steph, Send us an email to [email protected] - we can ship you a couple inserts in the proper length if you like ? :) If you can get the old insert out - that is ideal. But you can install a new one close by that matches up to the hole pattern on the base plate of your binding.

Hi. Thanks for the video, very helpful. I'm making my own board as a hobby, what would be the default distance between the left and right binding inserts?
@shuswapsnb
@shuswapsnb 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Rogerio... it would depend on what length you are making the board. 138 cm? or 144 cm? the gap will be different :) Hope that helps

I wish this happened for all of the board reviews. Very specific about what they can and cannot do. I am tired of hearing this "its good for beginner to advanced and it can do whatever you want." That is BS and people end up wasting money. Thanks for the honesty.

Thanks for sharing.. I am 5'11" and I riding 18.5"(inside bolt to inside bolt) on my wake and kite boards. It feels ok.. I just thought other people might be interested..I am making my own carbon boards with a fixed stance option.. but I am looking at putting a T track in them in the future so you can change to suit..1 inch incrementing thread patterns are a bit limiting..

crap music... how wide is your stance
@shuswapsnb
@shuswapsnb 10 жыл бұрын
From inside left bolt to inside right bolt of my boots my stance 19.5" if you're measuring from the centre of my foot to the centre of my foot it's more like 24-25" but everyone is different and individual height/board length will affect stance widths to use. Most people ride shoulder width apart, or just a bit wider.

Some people like a looser feeling board and some people like a more "locked in" feel. It certainly would be easier to switch back and forth between goofy and regular if you had them off. I would say you should try and ride your board both ways (fins off and fins on) and decide what you like more! When you purchase a wakeboard they come in all different fin configurations from 1, 2, 3 or 4 removable fins on each end... not to mention all the modeled in fin options there are! Find your style!
