Well you have broadened my mind because I was taught we were never allowed to drape the sheet that low. But it's always been frustrating for me always using proper draping in that area because that's exactly the spot we need to access with a continuous flow when the client requests low back & glute work. Thankfully the spa I work at now is a little more liberal so I'm going to keep in mind your examples here.

The area you're working really hurts after going for a run(can feel a dull ache, days after the run, and if I push the area its sore and feels bruised). Is this caused from being heavy footed or over pronation during a run?? Any exercises to strengthen the area up? Thanks and great video.

@stuarthindsacademy3 ай бұрын
Thank you for the feedback, it is a tender area however i adjust my pressure to make it acceptable as soon as he starts to guard i back off , there is a trigger point in the belly of the medial head within a taut band and that is what i`m looking to treat , you should get a great change to the entire muscle

Would you do this if the TFL is pulled/strained?
@stuarthindsacademy3 ай бұрын
Well its pretty hard to strain or tear this muscle usually it can get really hypertonic and overloaded, so a gentle approach and some dry needling to reduce the tonicity then you can actually engage from a massage point of view, is this your TFL , if so is it from running?

@canoegirl6335 have you had it assessed by a professional, there are therapists who specialise in this, also a trip to the dentist to rule any dental issues, do you get headcahes, clicking jaw ? do you grind your teeth ?
