@@bought2build Solder would be more secure than butt splices but you'll still need to use heat shrinkable tubing to protect the solder point but it would be good practice to put heat shrink over a butt splice, also, unless the butt splice is heat shrinkable. Sometimes a lever splice would be a good idea but not as nice looking as a soldered connection. Anyway, a more professional look would be to use a manufactured "T" for this particular application and break out the connections there (but that will probably never happen). JMO. Actually, I wouldn't put in that larger gauge power wiring unless the current pull blows the existing fuel pump fuse. I doubt the wiring would get hot enough before that fuse blows.

After just watching the first 1 minute into the video I'm going to say NO you don't like the supercharger and regret going with that option why I say that so fast into the video - it's the belts squeaking of the belts that annoys you and get it to stop.
@bought2build

Belt squeaking? The belt doesn’t squeak that is the procharger itself that’s just how they sound especially with straight cut gears and with a cam when the rpm is bouncing around a little, some louder than others depending how fast the blower is spinning at idle 🤟🤟🤟👍👍👍👍👍

About the turbo smoking. The oil feed is not the problem. It almost never is. It's always the return. You need a bigger diameter drain. I went back and checked your videos of when you made the oil return line and by putting all those fittings together you choked the inner diameter of the line. You should make the return line with the inner diameter as big as the hole of the drain is on the turbo. And the restrictor that comes with the turbo is there for applications with too much oil pressure doubt the little Honda engine has that problem. You should remove the restirctor and open up the feed line more. I have seen expensive turbos fail due to people choking the oil feed cause they had a small return and turbo was smoking don't make the same mistake cause people will assume it was the "cheap" turbo' s fault.
@bought2build
@bought2build Ай бұрын
I always appreciate constructive criticism so What fittings you think choked it down? The -10’s? A -10an drain seemed big for such a small setup especially with a restrictor The turbo didn’t come with any hardware for the drain side so I got an adapter that is the size of the opening and tapers to the -10 Issue I would have is the -10 barely fits between the exhaust housing and also the manifold I had to grind it down a lot to fit even that so I don’t think a -12 would be able to fit in there but open to ideas 👍👍👍🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
@bought2build
@bought2build Ай бұрын
And not sure what you would think about it as far as the restrictor but it makes about 80psi oil pressure during a pull
@Kronic420
@Kronic420 Ай бұрын
If it's a ball bearing turbo you 100% need the restrictor, they take a very little amount of oil. Journal bearing you can get away without it. Not sure what buddy up above is talking about because hondas make more oil pressure than a lot of engines. If your oil drain is straight down and at least a foot drop, you should have no drainage issues with -10an. But he is right, ideally you don't want a 45 or 90 degree fitting coming right off the drain. My last setup I had a bottom mount ram horn, turbo sat so low I only had 3 inches of drain line 😂 cxracing gt3076, would push oil out tge inlet side. After switching to a log manifold it solved my drainage issues
@bought2build
@bought2build Ай бұрын
@@Kronic420 yeah it is a journal I just didn’t want to take the restrictor out and make it smoke worse but I’ve have ball bearing before and the restrictor that came with this turbo and the second one I added are both literally 4+ times bigger of an opening than the ball bearing was if that makes sense And yeah that is my main issue the space where the drain needs to be is so tight because it is such a small turbo a straight fitting won’t even fit it hits the manifold so it’s kind of a tight situation lol I don’t have many options to change Thanks for the reply and checking out the channel 🤟🤟🤟🤟👍👍👍👍👍👍
@Ismaak5
@Ismaak5 Ай бұрын
@@bought2build You may have to make a custom drain yourself and when I say custom I mean from scratch no off the self parts. Trace the return port on a paper, cut a plate weld the biggest tube that will fit, massage it to fit. As for the feed, pressure and volume are too different things you are starving the turbo of volume of oil with the restrictor. Journal bearings usually don't require any restrictors the internals of the cartridge are all the restriction they need.
