Its a simple answer. Christians act this way because they're human. I don't know why people who profess themselves to be Christian don't understand that we aren't truly changed until Jesus comes back for his faithful. That sounds like a cop out. He was a pastor and had all the power and authority that is given to pastors, which it is given to you, not by god, but by the congregation that follows you. After all, without them, you’d just be a man on a podium. It’s already up for debate on how healthy it is to have somebody have that level of authority over other people, especially with something as subjective and unprovable as religion. But then you’re gonna invalidate someone’s experience with…”no no, that wasn’t a real pastor or a real christian”. Must be real convenient to be able to comfort yourself with the fact that you’re not him.
