I’ve had a pair of the well-known sheepskin boots, but wanted something lighter and more flexible for around the house. I also have some of the well-known slipper socks, but they’re not all that warm. I bought the Sundance high-top sheepskin slippers. They’re just what I wanted, light, warm, and cozy. Best of all, I can do limited walking around outside, like going to the garage or the mailbox, because they have tough leather outsoles, unlike the thin soles of the slipper socks. They also breathe well, so they’re good for three seasons.
@KC9UDXАй бұрын
I use mine the same. And when I go camping, I'll wear them everywhere. Some days I get lazy and also wear them going to the store, etc. I forgot about this video. My Sundance boots show no signs of giving up any time soon. I forgot about those short lived Tamarac slippers.

Does the assembler output an object file or do you need a loader to make it run?
@KC9UDX5 ай бұрын
It outputs a Commodore PRG file, which is a two byte origin address and then machine language opcodes. I have an include file that I normally use, which inserts a line of BASIC code at the beginning; so the user can run the program with the RUN command in stead of having the call the machine routine (with the SYS command).

Why did you need to build an editor... You could have just used the basic editor using REM statements to hold the assembler source
@KC9UDX5 ай бұрын
1) I always liked writing my own editor. It can edit a flat file up to around 50k; and it uses keybindings that I like. 2) Using the BASIC editor is fine for what it does but it's very cumbersome for large programs. 3) The BASIC editor uses a ton of memory. 4) Having lines of REM statements would probably be a pain. Maybe starting each line with a double-quote would work.

reminds me of my father's voip server. It has been running 24/7 for the last 15 or so years and still does. Its a pentium 3 box that has a bunch of hardware pci cards for phones to plug into and its still on its original hard drive. I expect when the day comes for that server to finally rest it will be sad. It always sounds odd when there is a power cut since I am so used to hearing the fan and hdd wining from down the corridor, so when its not there it doesn't feel right.

If I'm correct, that's a Pentium Pro 200 Machine, great to see it was working for such a long time. I'm curious how fast a rasbperry Pi 3 or so would perform in comparison, and how much less power it consumes, afaik those pro200 took up to 50W (just the CPU itself).
