If you like janky roads that merge and switch, change directions or stop abruptly (while people are riding your ass) and leave you trying to figure out which pothole gave you the flat tire or a broken suspension system, Lowell and Dracut is for you. If you like being pissed off because your in the wrong lane trying to get to the correct lane but everyone else is in the same boat as you so there is competition for spots in that lane, then this town is for you. People block intersections, block driveways, cause collisions all because the roads in this town are some of thee worst I have ever seen. If you hate your car, it's for you. If you enjoy scenic trails of trash, come to Lowell. Cost of living horrifically high. I absolutely hate the town. Yes there are nice areas but you have to GET to them first with your car intact. I would no way in hell recommend living here. Live on the outskirts. Don't live in the city. And this is before you even get to Boston. Come November, I'm OUT and going back home to the rolling hills of Kentucky!

sure lowell has had a really crap name over the years but i honestly think they have been making progress it the updating and changes that can push the town alil further each year. i grew up there so i understand the ugly, but there really is wonderful views and parts that i havent found anywhere else so far in my 37yrs of life. i will always miss the fall and the festivals. 💕 nice positive vid 👍

Lowell has a lot to offer and I would recommend coming here. As a Lowell first time homeowner myself who's raised two kids, on my third now (6) I can say it does have the restaurants, bars, festivals, businesses, shops and proximity to everything you need. I'm originally from Boston and couldnt afford Boston Somerville or even Chelsea Revere Medford. Lowell was and is a good choice for first time homebuyers. Of course there are areas that can be shady. Its a big city. Downtown condos are very nice. Neighborhoods like the Belividere Highlands Pawtecketville Tyler Park areas and many others are well kept, good for families or young people starting out. You're also close to shopping malls in Burlington MA pr Nashua NH. Commuter rail puts you in downtown Boston in 45 minutes too. Do your research. -- Proud Lowell Homeowner

Okay I'm from Lowell I love Lowell it will always be my hometown. And yes restaurants are good but that's about the extent of what's cool and Lowell other places have restaurants. There is no nightlife to speak of and it's been this way for over 20 years unlike for example Davis square in Somerville or Harvard square which is comfortable for anyone to go out in whether it's more of a family event or a younger people or people you know older they don't have that in the lowell and that's problematic. It's been this way for a long time LOL definitely has its good points but it always seems to fall short of the goal. Back in the early 90s a lot of things were going well and I remember the same things happening in Somerville which got it right Lowell never did. For example that new courthouse that's nice right but that doesn't do anything to bring new business into the city I mean the lawyers are making money and the people who work there but people only go to the courthouse cuz they have to because they want to. I think that building looks horrible . It doesn't look like it matches the rest of the city in fact previous zoning. in fact it looks like a big dick rising out of the landscape

Noone I MEAN NOONE SHOULD EVER MOVE TO LOWELL. I grew up there for 33 years. The place has gotten worse. TONS OF HEROIN, COKE, METH N WEED AND INSANE SHOOTINGS. it's money NY . MOST OF THE "NEW"CONDOS ARE HAUNTED. THE HIGHSCHOOL IS A SHIT MESS. MOVING OUT WAS THE BEST DECISION EVER. If you want your kids to grow up and be drug addicts or in gangs, move here. Gangs are heavy heavy here. Man F.... Lowell. Check out the death rates due to overdoses and fetanyl. Spend 2 weeks here. You'll see at least a few fights and SHOOTINGS.
