I do like the overcompressed sound too but he’s right on this. People are even overcompressing Beatles remasters and it’s just not meant for some music. It has it’s time and place.

Love Architects. People do not see this side of metal, kindness, decency, real issues covered in the most incredible music and lyrics. Coming from a gay guy, props for the comment on homophobia, these people lack the intelligence to understand your music or respect you for what you do. That was a big deal for me to hear you say. We are all in this confusing world together, just trying to get by. Love over hate!

The over-sensitization of punk and left wingers in general recently is just pathetic. It's a joke and you know it's a joke. If it bothers you approach them privately about it. Don't cry to the internet to bring attention to your declining music by dragging peoples names through the mud.

I love introducing people to PTV, they’ve been my rock since I was 12-13. But we’re mad at the disrespect they’re giving other bands when they’re the ones that bought tickets knowing two bands were going to play. People leaving during shows after their top band played has never happened. During warped tour, everybody stayed no matter who was playing - they loved seeing the new bands or bands they weren’t familiar with and everybody had a blast. It’s crazy that King For A Day was trending again after 9 years, it is good for PTV but it also sucks for us because we can never get tickets just because TikTok kids wanna see one song to make for their video to be trending. I’ve been trying to get tickets for years now and my husband and I are finally going.

Flowery justifications and emotional appeals aside, Christianity is still the primary oppressive force in the world and the primary justification for atrocities throughout history. We ARE all messy, broken, silly, and goofy, Jake, but the rest of us don't use that to excuse enacting draconian laws onto others for believing differently or not obeying the dictates of your religion. Extend that out to the actual claims of the Bible and it gets messier. Hell and torment from a god that claims it to be love and acceptance is abuse apologia at best and malevolence at its core.

I like their music and always will but I can't disagree with fat Mike more. The reason the world is going to hell is because of sex obsession. People need to find happiness in other ways than sleeping with random strangers and spreading diseases and having unwanted pregnancies. People fulfilling their twisted sexual desires and trying to normalize them is destroying morality completely. I know he's not the religious type but he really should read a little about Sodom and Gomorrah. Life is not about fucking as many people as you can in as many weird ways as you can.

violent j is on some bullshit. He thinks the bible is ignorant and trash? I wonder if he actually has read it? Everyone has their horror stories about "christians", but none of ya'll know a damn thing about it. You just run at the gums about the religion, there is a distinct difference. And if you look into the scriptures those kind of "christians" were called pharisees.

My thing is the mfs who used to make fun of us for nd bully us for our msuic taste nd style, are the ones saying they're fans now since the rise of rap/rock phase in the music industry happened. At least some do understand why we like it now, but it's the ppl that are only "fans" jus cause it's poppin. Bro I've literally seen a handful of people that used to hate on ppl being scene or emo etc, wearing the same shi we used to wear now like whaat? Maybe they were closeted emos the whole time? Maybe they're hopping on the bandwagon to look cool? Idk the world may never knoww😂😂

I played in a ton of bands in the 90s & 2000’s. I’ve met many talented Black metal musicians. But most of the bands refused to let Black musicians audition. Only whites, Latinos and Asians. Managers and booking agents told us we wouldn’t get a following with a Black person in the band.

I've been a fan of PTV since 2009. Ive only seen them perform twice though. Once at warped tour in 2010, and the second time was two weeks ago, 7/6/24. They still sounded JUST as good as they did 14 years ago!!! It was such a phenomenal show, I'm so happy they opened for Blink 182

@brianmeen2158 exactly, but I don't believe racism is an objective thing, there is only conflict of interests between races. There is an objective difference between black and white. Of course a black man is going to act in the interests of his own group and of course the reverse is also true. As it should be. The idea of racism only divides us. We could stop pointing the finger at each other and blaming each other for a fantasy world where there is no difference between us and them not becoming actualized, or we can instead recognize the facts that are clear, and on the basis of the reality (our innate differences) work towards a real, mutual respect. The problem, I think, is that people fear what that could mean, most people don't hate people based on their race, even the ones who openly say they do really only hate the conflict. Hard feelings over how the conflict is going for their own group. It's actually really understandable why. I'm not going to submit to black power any more than I expect them to submit to white power. Neither makes any sense. There isn't any easy way forward, but there is an objective way forward that could work in favour for all parties. It certainly isn't multiculturalism, at least in the way that word is understood. I don't know exactly what needs to be done, and won't until these hard conversations actually are had and the insight gleaned from talking about it honestly. Hostility is almost certain at the beginning of such a social conversation, but if it can be felt and gone through with the mindset of eliminating the conflict rather than adding to it, we can begin to see a solution to it. It's not going to happen if we are too scared of talking about it lest we be considered a racist. Non-whites are not to blame for whites being scared to talk honestly about these things, the responsibility lies with everyone as individuals to speak honestly despite their fear of how they may be perceived.

At this point I honestly don’t know what the term ‘racism’ even Means anymore as it’s so overused. Growing up it meant you didn’t like people from another race. Going by that definition I really have to say I haven’t encountered much actual racism in metal. I’ve been to quite a few metal shows with a bunch of drunk metalheads and I’ve heard the N word said maybe 3 times over the course of 20 years

9:12 Doesn’t matter, no matter what any white person says it will never be enough. Non whites who yap about race and diversity in metal don’t want equality in metal. They try wayyy too hard seeking some kind of weird validation that is never accepted so theyre forced to push equity, which basically just means “fuck white people give non whites all the attention in metal ”. Pretty sad honestly.

Fans are fans just new way to reach them. This scene has always been that way. I was introduced 5 records ago by an ex gf and in that time they put out great records am I less of a fan cause this girl I use to F showed me them and I grew to really love them. So I'm an emo pu$$y ignited fan. To be fair introduced her to AFI and brand new so its a trade. A day to remember and PTV are from her. Yeah I'm 10 yrs older than that girl so it makes sense and when ptv first came out and adtr I was raising my first son by myself so yeah I had time off of the scene and now I'm taking that same son to see blink and PTV on Sunday in NYC and he's super pumped at 17 yrs old to go
