I got a pair of meinl heavy 2b’s and after like two days my left stick lost all of its tone. I’m guessing it has a crack on the inside or somethin. Is that just the sticks or is it my technique that made that happen?

You're always my favorite Drummer & song writer Cameron. I remember getting to party with boo a bit at my old bands house in Oklahoma. Lile 2010ish and you showed us new 7 string song ideas and some beats you was working on for Bizzy Bone from Bone Thugs n Harmony. I've been trying find out if your beats made it to Bizzys album, because I remember them sounding sick, but I can't remember exactly how it sounded to know for sure wich songs it is on the Bizzy album when I listen to it.

Question when people talk about 260 BPM 230BPM do they mean traditional 2 foot blasts playing 16th notes?I'm trying to work my way up the BPM ladder with 2 foot traditional blasts i'm currently at 160 bpm but have trouble holding it for multiple bars.
@weretalkindrumspodcast
@weretalkindrumspodcast 3 ай бұрын
Well it depends on the context but with traditional blast beats it would be 8th notes with the feet ( 2 footed) at 230-260 bpm, kicks on the beat following the right hand then snare on the "ands" of the beat. My suggestion would be to work on both hands and feet separately off the kit and build your speed up and then start incorporating them together. Hopefully that helps clarify your question and also gets you to where you wanna be with your blasts! Thanks for listening!

This is exactly why all these 300 bpm bands are so uninteresting to me. I love shadow of intent. But playing that fast isn’t the only thing that makes a song good. It takes a massive toll on a drummers body. Bryce is right. You have to do what you have to do. But I also think it is kind of a cheap way out. The best drummers I’ve ever seen like Ken B from Aborted have no problem making those tempos clean with singles. But I respect Bryce so much for just wanting the songs to sound as good as they can. 🤘

triggers on a kick is just like guitarists having to use a pick instead of playing fingerstyle IMO

@@jbason_01 What you are talking about is more akin to a drummer turning their beaters to the plastic side instead of using the felt side.

I was at one of the Vader and Origin shows back in the early 2000s in Montreal. At one point between sets the stage had Longstreth, Doc, Flo from Cryptopsy, and a few others on it all talking to each other. Not sure I ever fanboyed quite so hard as at that moment.

Ty for this channel and this interview ! BTS Meinl vids were great. I use Evans Uv2 coated upper, UV coated reso lower and they sound great. Solid thump w/great tone and quick decay. Highly recommend Evans, as they sound great and can take a beating. I also use Trick Dominators, they are the shit and well worth the money.
