Learning to march is easy, just stay in step, swing your arms up to shoulder height, face the front etc. Drill movements are the hard bits because you have to learn the timings, where to put each foot, when to swing your arms.

My detachment made all of the untrained basics into the parade and we looked embarrassingly stupid. One of the guys turned the wrong way and at least half of them were tick tokking all the way down the road. I saw the video of us and some of the guys couldn't even stay in step with the drum beats 🤦‍♂️
