@GhettoStyles2 күн бұрын
@@dawidkruszynski6058 I am always using CONTROLLER MODE. When you are in controller mode your SD Card or SSD will show up on your desktop. You don’t have to remove the card you can simply just open the folder and drag the file to wherever you want it. If you are standalone only that is not possible and you will always have to remove the card.

Revisiting this conversation 3 days later so I got to thinking why would akai put off the software desktop update 🤔 I have seen so meny videos on KZfaq in the pass years saying how they don't use the mpc software to mix or master after making the beat on standalone. 😂they stem out n mix n a different daw 😂that's a slap in the akai desktop software face smh now that I think about it even I have mentioned steming out n mix in other daws lol . I have recently started mixing in standalone and software using mpc standalone and software .still tho if that one of the reasons Why the software got put on hold I don't blame akai 😂 the disrespect showed towards the software I have witnessed over the years would be understandable from my prospective 😂they Said we don't need the software right now keep doing yall disrespect stem out process into other daws lol jk
@GhettoStyles4 күн бұрын
@@88keyz that could very well be true. Most people don’t understand that you don’t feel a difference when you use the software. They say it feels clunky and it’s confusing but as I have said 1000 times if you use a MPC with the software you don’t know a difference outside of being able to do more. Now if you use the software without a MPC it’s definitely clunky and a bit confusing.

@GhettoStyles when it came to finally focusing on mixing and Mastering in standalone and using the software I did and side by side comparison of the eqs from the mpc and other 3rd party eqs that have visual representation of what was being done so I could see the mpc eqs actions once I saw them it made it easier to use the mpc eqs without actually seeing them before then I was a little confused also I noticed I have to pay attention to the slopes or cut off ranges of the mpc eqs I noticed some times have to cut instead of 12 slope may have 2 use 24 to cut exactly to match like some 3rd party its still a listing with my ear process still knowing exactly that mpc eqs may have to go extra slopes was important for me to actually see it and hear it I only did a few different test comparison after that I got it basically

They apparently eliminated the SONG mode in 3.0!! The only reason I have an MPC is because I can mute tracks individually and independently on each sequence separately! Just like I did on the old Alesis MMT-8. Song mode is THE feature that makes MPC worthwhile! And now they have taken that away from us!? I will clearly NOT update to 3.0. I definitely don't want the MPC to become like those boring linear software DAWS. Akai MUST bring back the pure song-mode feature. It's vital.

@@SMEL better audio interfaces. RME Fireface UFX III or Apollo X series or even dedicated converters like the Dangerous Convert AD+. There are many ways to get top notch conversion. They are not usually cheap.
@SMEL5 күн бұрын
@@GhettoStyles Peace and Love thanks for the response. Yeah, I have an Appollo X, however my issue is when I bounce a plugin instrument from third-party plugiin in controller mode and save the audio in my project on the hardware SD card so I can use in stand alone, I lose alot of quality in that bounce down. Should I bounce out on the computer instead? My ultimate goal is take the MPC Project and record back in live to Pro Tools through the MPC hardware outs (love dat sound) through my apollo interface (sometimes some other sauce before hitting the appollo).
@GhettoStyles5 күн бұрын
@@SMEL if you have an Apollo I would definitely go through that. You can connect the Apollo directly to the MPC and use the Apollo as the MPC interface or you can put the MPC in controller mode and select the Apollo as the interface. Why get bunched up because of what’s changing? Things are always changing and upgrading and we do the best with what we have. YOU ARE ALL PRODUCERS! Quit the bitchin an and keep pitchin! With midi based interfaces and MPC hardware capabilities, WE ALWAYS work around this stuff. In any case, when it comes to beat making, AKAI coming out to compete with the DAWS is awesome. This is a win-win for all of us who use multiple means to produce. I learned, with digital music production, you jump all in, because you will easily start limiting your production capability if you don’t. Great video with extremely valid concerns, in any case. BIG BRO....I can relate to your sentiment about the possibility of a Pay on the computer, but Akai had to compensate for the long haul from the inception of the MPC ....it was Righteous, I'M A TRUE STANDALONE USER AND WOULD LOVE for the MPCs to remain so...ON the adverse affect I cant keep up with the updates of computer software to accommodate the MPC 's DRIVERS, We are 50/50....at the end of day Akai wants more hardware buyers and we can accept that hustle. P.s....probably BEATS is obsolete 😮😮.....Hold strong 💪 Family

You are right it might be.I started making beats in a software environment and started moving toward hardware later. Standalone only kills half of my workflow. I can make beats in standalone but I can't do a lot of what I normally like to do.

@@GhettoStyles I started out making beats when a hybrid approach was the goal (I haven't forgotten about MESA and AKSys). I got back into Akai because I thought it was going to be an evolution of what they were pushing in the 90s, but it's approach to standalone, hybrid, and software has always felt disjointed and this 3.0 release only adds to that. When I make beats, I'm sitting in front of a computer 95% of the time, so the need for standalone was a concern but I thought all things (as much as possible) would be equal. I'll wait and see how this works. At the end of the day, I just wish they release an MPC Studio that looks like the One...lol

@@pawnotdaw4559 you are right about the software if you are NOT using a hardware MPC with it. Using the software by itself can be a bit annoying. However if you are using ANY MPC to control the software you can use the MPC to run the software and it works exactly the same as Standalone but without the standalone limitations. You literally don’t even have to look at the software if you don’t want to. What you get is more RAM, a better processor, better time stretch and stem algorithms, up to 256 (128 audio and 128 MIDI) tracks instead of the limit of 16 in standalone (8 audio and 8 MIDI) plus you can use world class third party VST effects and sounds.

It seems to me now that the public beta is a marketing strategy in order to ease the critisism of the firmware possibly not being perfect. While they work towards getting ready for its "official release" on desktop as well. The public beta isnt limited..so everybody will get it. Pure marketing. Seems clever.
