Storage is always needed and better than wasting space! I have a feeling that nava will fill those with Christmas stuff and makes a good place to hide presents with a lock of course

Why don't you get Justin make some pullouts that will only come out to the lower framework. Making them as hanging wardrobe space and shelving would be hidden wardrobes giving you different height for clothing. They would also be in keeping with you wanting uncluttered floor space. You might just get it done before the boys get to your age now Cole. Keep going as the boss/owner you should be showing Justin and Roman an example by working longer. Like working nightshifts now and again. You have to lead by example and from the front, as they say!

Would it be easier, well not easier to jack the whole house up and use the basement that’s there now as footings and such and raise the walls and put in bigger windows. You already have to do plumbing and wiring

Install drawer slides and build drawers into those cubby spaces so you can utilize all the space in them without having to actually crawl into them .

For those alcoves build an extra large 4'x4' sliding drawer or drawers. Use it like a huge pull-out to store Christmas decor, Halloween decor, winter gear, etc.

I might have been tempted to build a raft foundation and put a garage with apartment above separate to the main house.

A suggestion for your sewer, check out This Old House Season 45, episode 19. A new pipe is pulled through the old! No digging, trenching, or concrete removed.

In the attic, on the short walls, build-in cabinets for board games, winter gear, kid's toys. Use the bigger storage areas for seasonal sports gear and decorations.

I figured there wouldnt be a footer on a house that old. So many cans of worms opened. At this point probably would have been cheaper to bulldoze snd build new

You need proper bracing for those new roof walls in both directions. probably have to build another wall in front of the pony walls. You need perlins as well. You might need ties. I really hope you called in an engineer. Your area gets way to nuch wind and snow loads to just be guessing.

Seems an odd choice to make only a 2 bedroom house with so much square footage.
@larryandersin653522 сағат бұрын
I used to love using screws but I have learned to come to understand that the house needs to flex a little bit screws does not allow the house to flex much and the screws sheer off much easier a nail will bend to the flex of the house

For the weird spaces that are boxed in -- one could be a cool "fort" for your kids (my little sister had a place like this under the stairs in our house) and use the other for luggage storage (suitcases, bags, etc), or holiday decorations, pillows and blankets, movies.... anything really

Cole keep the door on the porch from the kitchen. You wont need to go down stairs to grill outside. You are young now but age will come.

Hi Cole, I love following your channel! We lived in a old Victorian home that was built in 1887! The attic had the same situation. I stored all of my Christmas items in the attic under the roof. They were safe and dry I didn’t have to worry about critters getting into them. It worked out beautifully! You can put your Christmas wrapping paper in there and everything else… Nice thing is that we had access doors and I only needed to get in there one time a year. Just food for thought.

How about placing the air conditioner unit in the largest space and you can place the duct work in the space you created by the support walls. Remember cool air is heavier than warm and falls. This would make the best use of the air conditioning use instead of trying to push the cold air to the second floor and attic space.

Biggest part of the problem regarding financial difficulties for farmers is caving in to the mono-crop stupidity that is destroying the planet while making millionaires and billionaires more and more rich while financially destroying the farmers and their ability to be self-sufficient in any way whatsoever, requiring him to depend on government handouts and own nothing and being happy about it. Farmers need to stop destroying the planet growing plants and start raising livestock to actually restore the planet and feed people real food that is not only nutritious but also free of pesticides and naturally occurring plant toxins. Raise more beef! Eat more beef!

make a little tunnel for the kids to be able to crawl through. two 24 inch x24 inch holes in the opposite ends of the little area and then finish the inside of the tunnel with plywood carpet or something. super fun to crawl through.

Watching this 9 months later just as you're getting ready to rip out and redo the foundation after a gutter almost tear down with so much more work needed than first realized. As full-time real estate investors who lived in our own major remodel of similar proportions, I feel your pain! We learned so much from that project, it paid for us to start buying and renovating apartment buildings. Really enjoying watching this thing come together (after it's come apart first!)
