Hey mate, just want to confirm that when using as a clip on , you cant utilise the balistics calculator / range finder with the automatic adjustment?

Correct - the very fine adjustments required make it rather impossible with any distance to be that precise with something clamped on to a scope - LRF works though

Looks like a good image at max digital zoom. I am still trying to understand the benefits of a 4k sensor (3840*2160) when the display (800x800 circular) has not changed. Is there an independant technical explantion ? Looking forward to receiving my new TA32-35 LRF in a few weeks !!

Basically there are more pixels behind the screen on the sensor so it’s a lossless zoom as you zoom - same as you phone really - check out my video on the cattle and water trough - they should be here next week

Hello. I ask you something that has me in doubt.. Both the ds 35 and this one come with 1 of their rings, in the part that goes to the picatiny rail an elevation to compensate Moas, do you know how many moas the value is? ..20 , 40?. Regards

Hi. You state that the scope on rifle's zoom won't really be meaningful. I have a Vortex Diamondback Tactical ffp. Will using this unit not make my scope's advantages obsolete? Also, can the front clip on record a reticle while hunting? Thanks
@owlopticsandoutdoors
@owlopticsandoutdoors 26 күн бұрын
Yep your glass scope will just zoom into a tv screen - clip on are all a compromise - best is just run a standalone scope like night stalker 4k - day night, dusk and has ballistics and 100mm of eye relief

Question for you! How well does it retain "zero" in clip on configuration? Do I need to collimate every time? Also, I've got a Schmidt & Bender that doesn't give me any parallax adjustment. Is that feature necessary to get a good image?
@owlopticsandoutdoors

Watch the video I have a test there using the FD1, concept is the same, yes you should check it - any front clip on (any brand) that isn’t bolted to chassis can move depending on what you do as its just holding the front of the scope - QD mounts and just swap the whole scope is better - needs to be able to focus to see the screen

Was thinking of going to the hikmicro 4K but after talking to the lads at the shooting range today i was informed that PARD now has a 4K variant. Couple of questions. Can the Pard DS Gen 1/2 obtain the 22 zoom with a firmware update? and when recording video footage with the 4k does it display the picture in picture if its being used when recording?

My Parameters screen doesn't display a "Ballistic Data" profile. It looks just like the pic on p.32 of the User Manual, top line is Velocity. I understand that's a glitch awaiting an update, but I'm curious how the screen in your videos, made a year ago, has the Profile line? My version is 7/17/2023, GK384#QTDGTF0509. I see there is a 3/28/24 update available, but the manual says "Upgrading firmware may cause damage to the equipment" so . . . if that's so, maybe I'm better of living with what I've got?

@@owlopticsandoutdoors Looking for a combo of optical night vision and thermal. Thermal for spotting and optical scope for ID. For border security application, for example, laser range finder is not needed. It seems like they are only catering to hunters/shooters. For other applications, laser range finder just adds unnecessary weight, size and price. Instead of LRF, I'd rather have 2 IRs (both 940nm and 850nm). That way, 940nm IR can be used for short to medium range discreetly and simply switch to 850nm IR for long range.

Shouldn't a lower bc cause the bullet to drop more?. If a 6.5 creedmore has a bc over .5 it is much more efficient than a .243 win that is going faster at the muzzle but has a lower bc of some where in the low .4's depending on the bullet of course. That's why a 6.5 creedmore stays super sonic longer and is more effective at longer ranges.

Way too many factors to actually properly compare images - they must be done at the same time and place and you can spend a lot of time making them the best you can; focus won’t be perfect and looking at a massive monitor it will show up vs the eye piece - in effect marketing rubbish; - we just film real world as you should

It’s a good scope - just reading pure specs often doesn’t tell the real story - optically zooming on a TV screen isn’t going optically improve the image (any brand) you are looking at pixels - The 007 will use optical zoom of your scope typically out to 14x
