Hi I have a og xbox one sometimes it shuts off during startup some times I can play for hours before it shuts off. Start up is slow in my opinion as is downloading games and nearly everything. I know it’s not overheating because I completely dissembled the console and applied new thermal paste to try to fix my issue it did not. Could this be a hard drive issue? Please any advice would be greatly appreciated

You include clearance slots like this to increase isolation, typically electrical, although in this case I suspect that the board was coupled to the car with too much rigidity and these slots were included for mechanical isolation(vibration or shock). I do admit it’s a bit puzzling though.

Look into some ultraviolet resin. I run across this issue a lot, especially on remotes. After repairing the traces you can put a good glob all over and keep it secure 👍 T7000 glue is pretty good too, but more of like a potting glue. Super secure, need heat to remove it down the line.

Yeah this is for isolation. The via stitching gives it away. It was just done in a very crappy way.

I’ve had dozens of them with only one that ever failed…, of course it was the most annoying one to fail being the boot for my unraid server. For general use, they are great.

It’s not that they suck. It’s just that they are very mediocre in performance and you get exactly what you pay for. The only Micro Center flash I’ve had fail are drives that were physically damaged. Again, I wouldn’t recommend these for things for their reliability or performance, but they are certainly cheap and definitely get the job done and are definitely not fake like the ones on AliExpress.

This is outrageous! I saw people speculate about it being for strain relief or isolation, but it is not designed in that way and also it doesn't make sense to isolate buttons.. For strain relief it would have to be longer tounges on the PCB for that purpose..
