Pretty sure Abel is using falsetto mix then dropping into his chest voice in a seamless transition through the mix voice. Ive been practicing it a bit, however i know for sure he isnt doing the whole entire chorus in falsetto.....hes also using his ping electronically naturally....that is not all autotune.....

I felt more energy from the teacher than from gotye. Like I thought he was pulling a milli vanilla. I can picture someone like Sting singing this with more passion than gotye shows in his performances. But I think it was because he was new. Now his performances seem to have more energy. This is a great video I would get tripped up on the lyrics too.

Yes its the real police in the background unless Vocal charm meant to put them in(doubtful) and TDLR he basically say sing it like the artist does. I am an ok singer and I was searching for how to sing this song but maybe i should have searched for how to correct for a songs tone but then again I would not have seen this which I am sorry is basically "Sing like the singer sounds" which is really not helpful. I tell people all the time at karaoke to just sing what they love and who care what they sound like and your suggestion seems to be copy the artist and I was hoping for if you have a lower natural voice lower the beat of the song or how to get the high notes when your tone is low but hey you do you son. I already know that if you can "semi" sing just lower the key of the song if your voice is low but this will teach me not to search for silly things while drink.(search for silly things get silly results)

The Part of the Song "You watch me bleed until i cant breathe..." is just as high as the "move on" but it just sounds like it's higher because the voice is well processed and layered

im tryinga sing that song and english isnt my first language and is good to know that even ppl that have eng as first language have difficult to sing that song at first time, so i'd say that im doing very well

I live in a very low siren city in very quiet New Zealand...sirens only got here last year. So as I listen to this I really feel back home in USA. Meanwhile, my trying to sing like Sting and play guitar like Andy Summers requires a BIG effort.
