stop messing with the camera all the time to get it to focus . just place your hand behind what you want the camera to focus on and it will. otherwise why did you kill the other plants?

Nice setup 😊 Are you sure you have enough lighting though? I have a Rudsta greenhouse cabinet and I have many more lights than 2. I have 8 lights total in my cabinet. I hope it all works out well for you regardless. You have a lovely collection.

Try pumice in your soil mix. It has worked better than perlite for me. Especially in bigger pots. Casa De Amor has good stock.

am surprised you arenot adding any nutrient to the soil. you are putting too much faith in the store bought soil and the soil is clearly not making the plant grow and push new leaves. you can try adding worm casting or any other organic fertilizer in the the soil to help with growth. the fact that you have good roots and now growth above soil is because of lack of nutrients in the soil so amend the soil with organic fertilizer.
@CasualLeaves

Add good quality coco chips and/or vermiculite for water retention in the clari seedling. The cup seemed to big for the seedling, a smalker pot would have been ideal. Perlite in a semi hydroponic setup is always the best bet to promote better roots. You can shuft to a chunkier aroid mix once well rooted. I'm staying away from hoyas. i always end up killing them. 😅😅 But this hoya looks so pretty. Hope it thrives! Great video..as always! ❤

You probably got it out already, but here’s what to do: For future reference you could get a humidifier which helps the ease of the leaf getting out, or use a spray bottle when the leaf is getting out When the leaf is already stuck, use a spray bottle and wet it, and then use a q tip to gentle wiggle the leaf out! I think spraying the q tip with water beforehand helps
@CasualLeaves

Thank you so much for you comment...yes I guess I started spraying water back then...and eventually started keeping the plant in a zip lock bag...currently I have lost most of the plant and just have cutting in perlite 🌿🙈

I agree with galfarrero! You'll need to use a much chunkier mix indoors and especially in a closed setup. Avoid cocopeat completely indoors. I'll send you some of my aroid mix to try. See if that works for you! I'd love some feedback too. :)

Hi! Love the way how you’re not giving up on this plant👍🏻 Just a quick suggestion, do try fluval stratum/aqua soil or sphagnum+perlite for rooting. It’s better to transfer to semi hydro after the plant has developed few good roots. Nevertheless I’ll be interested to see if pon works for rooting.
@CasualLeaves
@CasualLeaves Ай бұрын
Yes didn’t really think about that 🙈 I was in such an emergency...but yes could have done sphagnum + perlite for rooting...let's hope the plant develops roots in PON...will be an experiment...the lead has started going yellow though 😕

😞😞...it's the worst feeling when that happens...good thing about alocasia is that you can totally restart and usually the success rate is quite high 🌿 could be over watering maybe? Or just not enough air flow in the soil? In hindsight, I think mine happened cos of that

@@CasualLeaves I’m not 💯 sure. I just bought it from a nursery : weeks ago. When I repotted it I notice it had a sponge on the stem or under it. I messed trying to remove it and noticed the roots were extremely weak and falling out. What I didn’t do is to consider there was a problem and remove it or all the dead roots. I thought I did, but at this point I’m not sure. I definitely watered it to much not knowing the roots weren’t taking up any of the nutrients. 😩
@CasualLeaves
@CasualLeaves Ай бұрын
@@LeafyConversations ohhhhh I see...I hate those sponge things 🙁 that ideally need to be removed but how does one know it's there or not in the first place...most of my plants which went into eventual trouble always had that sponge...they are the worst...hmmm...is the plant still alive? Maybe best would be to just propagate it in water for some roots to develop and then shift it in PON...you can unpot it, was off all the soil, propagate in water for a few weeks
@LeafyConversations
@LeafyConversations Ай бұрын
@@CasualLeaves It has two long roots and a few short ones. Looks like the leaves I left are dying off, but the stem looks healthy. I went ahead and put it in Leca, water, and some PON. However, I didn’t have a self-watering pot, so I have it in a no drainage pot. Hopefully the roots don’t rot because of that…this truly is difficult. We are doctors almost with no one to call. 😩

Thank you so much Casual leaves! I'm glad these plants are in great hands. Anthuriums do undergo some transit shock and hence are sent with pots or in moss(depending on size). They can show some signs of stress on the leaves during summer transit and that's normal. The main thing to look for is good roots. As long as the roots are good and the stem is healthy, it's all good. Some plants like the El-Choco red and Verrucosum and Amazon sunset definitely need work on it to help them settle in their new home. They do love cooler temperatures. But I'm glad you're making it work with the El-Choco red you got! ❤❤ Ecuagenera plants coming in soon. Can't wait to see the unboxing video for that! 😊😊

Great video on assembly. I am interested to know how the lower back support is. All these office chairs we see in market with a million adjustments, I am super confused to say the least. IKEA which is known for design with comfort has this minimalist design. Appreciate if you could share your experience with lower back support, it will be quite helpful.
@CasualLeaves
@CasualLeaves Ай бұрын
It gives an overall sturdy support but if you are specifically looking for lower back support than there will be better chairs available. This one's more for a lean back chill out seat for laying low on the sway and reading a book, etc. The arm rest bites a bit in some positions. The redeeming quality is that the chair is very well ventilated for the back rest so it's good for hot tropical climates. Also for zoom calls - it's not obtrusive as it's got a very sleek minimal design.

Glad to see you venture in this category. These are so hardy and low maintenance, you'll love them. Do give them good amount of bright light, otherwise they'll etiolate. The booby cactus seems to have done that. Treat scales as soon as you can before they spread. they are like the spider mites of cactii. They'll drain out and kill the cactus pretty quickly! Hope you enjoy watching them grow... :)
