It’s honestly really tragic. They are forever trapped in this purgatory, but there are moments where the characters see the world as it truly is they still value each other in their own way.

I really wish we had more chilled-out romantic scenes like this in media. Stuff that isn’t too weird or sexualized and boiled down to just pure sweetness and companionship. I’ve not watched the DHMIS tv series, but I really love this scene so much tbh…

I can deffinitely why people would take this as romantic, and I doesn't matter if it is, but I didn't really see it as that (And I kind of hope it's not from a thematic standpoint). Other than Yellow Guy, none of the characters really show interest in romantic relationships throughout the series, and they're all also pretty mean spirited toward one another, only opening up about their honest feelings occasionally after rough experiences. This scene kind of felt like the ultimate payoff for these two's character archs on that sentiment. Where Duck thinks only of himself above the others, and Red is sort of apathetic toward everything and everyone, the two finally admit in this moment that despite their attitude toward eachother, they actually care; Just in their own, socially awkward way. Even in the unending dark nightmare, at least being able to see the house meant familiarity, and being able to see one another meant they knew they weren't going through it all alone... Or maybe it is just a gay romance! I ain't gonna ruin the shippers fun 😂

This is so sweet. I’ve always interpreted it as romantic , but I can definitely see how you could see it platonically. such a nice scene! It really helps break up all the horror and stuff in this episode

this is actually one of the best and sweetest moments i have ever heard and seen its so simple and probably on the least romantic side of things (apart from the looking at you part) yet its so sweet and it gives me way to much serotonin.

I never considered why anyone would ship any of the characters in the show because of how…twisted and morbid their relationships and personalities are. But this scene made me stop for a moment and think to myself, ‘Huh, a normal relationship!’ And honestly I can see why people ship it. But whether it’s romantic or platonic, I think the relationship they have with each other is really cute.
