When Country was Country ... great to hear that steel guitar driving this song something that is missing from many of the so called present day country music acts which is just "pop music" ... lets hope that one day it all comes back to real country music. Great to hear Jean Shepard again. The saying goes ... history repeats itself ... well I hope it does in country music.

Apparently Chesnutt’s producer made a few changes in Harden’s composition. Harden sings “I may” instead of “I might.” Also says “I just came in” instead of “I only planned..”. Also I notice many versions drop the “when” in “when it’s too hot”. I like the “when.” It makes the meaning clearer and also implies that these issues are seasonal, in other words summer has caused them and maybe when it cools off it will be better.

I listened to her on a.m. radio on the Grand Ole Opry years before I was able to stream 650 WSM. I've streamed WSM on my phone for years and enjoyed the show more because it doesn't fade out. I missed hearing the Golden Era of the Opry a few months ago and I regret it. Connie was being inducted in 1965 on one of the shows. I would have been excited to hear it.
