I think the FM1 will probably resolve a lot of the issues you point out, but the handle being too thin to use comfortably in any way even slightly resembling hard use is the real fatal flaw, and the FM1 looks even thinner. I cant wait until that trend dies.

Idk man, you said you sent it off for warranty, so they would’ve replaced the springs if one broke. So freezer right, condensation builds up, so the water that builds up “could” affect the springs… I would buy the proprietary tool and take it apart myself, CLEAN everything, and either use REM ( Remington ) Oil, or other OTF Oil. You could have some gunk or something small in there somewhere. But yea it shouldn’t be doing that.

I used to have the original black bodied Titan model of this. Accidentally, I damaged the battery portal by getting the battery stuck in the wrong position and couldn't get it out, so, I had to discard of it. I bought this same Titan plus that you have as a replacement; it's fantastic!

8:15 I call s90v chippy because in my experience it is. I loved my benchmade 940, it began my high-end knife collection. Where I ran into problems was day one at work, cutting dusty floor protection at work (not even flooring but plastic 40 mil thick) I end up with four little chips/rolls. I wiped off most of the dust even which was holding me up a little for the sake of caring for my knife. Tough old boxes also put noticeable wear on the edge quickly. I have no idea how you hit a staple unscathed. Cruwear and magnacut are what I ended up with, they take the abuse I need them to.

The EXACT same complaints from all the "new to collecting" people. I've heard this over and over before KZfaq even existed (yeah we use forums and have since dial up internet). I've had emerson's for longer than some you've been alive. They're great knives, built the way they should be built. Some of the best grinds in the industry. Emerson doesn't need to change what he's doing because it works. Emerson is to knives what Glock is to guns. Same song blah blah blah

I have 2 Backup MVs. I think they are underrated. I put a Z68 tailcap on one which is really handy when I need an umbrella light. I like that it has high come on first. But my house tends to be pretty dark. I used to edc it alot but it's mainly my house flashlight now which is great. I currently edc a Surefire Stiletto Pro which I really like. I'm thinking on if I should get the Pro 2.
