Should of moved the fence to cut the lid off, bottom of box on fence side. Also that way no kick back. When l was at school (70s) we made a box similar to this except that we used hand saws to cut the lid off

I like the way you add pro tips while doing the build video. And btw, thank you for the pro tips. I’ll start practicing them in my shop as well. The build video itself was really really good too. 🤘

Your risers did look good. When you first showed your work you did not have them centered and I could not see the feet. If you are going to tell how good it looks make sure it can be seen. Hey, we all must learn. And I know you will. God bless my friend.

If you are going to put some writing on the screen for heaven's sake make sure and leave it up long enough for us "old" people to read it. If you don't care, then don't write it. I will write more later.

Something seems wrong on your table saw setup? Look close when you are cutting off the lid and the cuts don't line up. It looked like the top you were cutting off was pretty flat so maybe your blade isn't aligned to the fence or something? It sounded bad when you finished cutting off the lid too like there was some binding. You might be able to adjust your fence to true everything or you might have to move your saw top? There are different ways on different saws to make an alignment. Nice finished box. The road to the end isn't as important as the end.
@T.JR.Woodworking29 күн бұрын
Yes sir I seen that as I made the cut your are correct , it was a little bit out of alignment, also that saw is older than I am , my dad used that saw when I was growing up . The box did turn out looking good , it created a little bit more sanding for me on the lid and top of the box . Yes you are correct the end results are what counts. Thank you . I really appreciate the feedback and comments. Thanks

Oneof BBB the difference I did as well I used the dowels but I drilled them into legs 1st thing I didn’t drill through top it was because my wife did not like the 2 different colors of dowels to cherry and I don’t own or didn’t have access to dowel maker at the time
@T.JR.WoodworkingАй бұрын
Yeah some like the look and others don't, but either way they turn out beautiful.

Worm holes are awesome selling points bro at least around here it’s why I always looked for wood that come in to our shop with them my boss hated them I’d get them cheap 😅
@T.JR.WoodworkingАй бұрын
Yes you are correct worm hole are character, and I really do like working with live edge , I wish I could get more opportunities to do so. Yeah I bet it turned out really smooth, great job and thank you

Question: Is there a reason as to why you didn't camphor the ends of the top?
@T.JR.WoodworkingАй бұрын
No reason I just like to dull the edges with sand paper I could have , but I usually give the customer what they want but yes it would look good as well

you did a very good job.What I would like to see is the maker place the project on etsy, messenger, whatever, and follow them until they are sold. I just want to see how fast they sell, and how much. thank you sir.
@T.JR.WoodworkingАй бұрын
It depends on your area some projects that sell well in your area may not do so well in other areas I like to see what is selling then I will put my own spin on it.
