Ahaha, it's genius. Even Jalen didn't knew that he was such complicated and genius singer and composer of improvised vocal piece of music. I'm laughing so hard.

Wonderful video rewatched today. Very little has been discussed about the inventiveness of Frank Loesser. Most Happy Fella & Guys & Dolls in particular-could you analyze & comment on his techniques and ingenuity. Thank you-

Rodgers had the rare gift of melody , but a certain style to be sure. A master of understanding the dynamics of love. Rodgers used the dynamic of “the other” in the Victory at Sea piece The Pacific Boils Over to express the Japanese impact on events at Pearl Harbor. Digresses on the Bali Hai and descendent music.,

If only we had a RR today. Why don’t we? Is the modern RR writing rap? 😖 I like the chordal analysis. My main instrument was guitar, which I played by chords usually. I do love piano but it proved difficult.
@stephenpowstinger7332 жыл бұрын
I’ve always loved Rodgers since I heard his song in the 1950s as a child. I hope you will say something about Victory at Sea. I did take musical theory so I enjoy this discussion.

It reminds me of the Willingham's player piano next door that I loved in my childhood. The rolls were often torn and they slid around on the track, providing many interesting unexpected modulations into non-related keys!
