Great! If can share any drone recommendation?
@wisconsinwhitetail974414 күн бұрын
I use a DJI mini 2. They are a great budget drone for the every day person. 20min battery life, range is about 1-1.5 miles away. No need for a drone over $1000. DJI minis are $400-$500 I think. Bought mine 2 yrs ago.

Food plot looks good, there is a chemical called butyrac 200 works good killing broadleaf but doesn't kill soybeans or clovers
@wisconsinwhitetail974414 күн бұрын
I’ll look into it. I have some prowl left over and will definitely lower the rate next year in my beans, hopefully at a lower rate I still have great weed control but less damage to the beans. The corn was unphased at the heavy rate.

We are having a lot of issues with Mares tail and RU resistant weeds. I was wondering how the Prowl H20 worked and where you purchased it from, and how much did you spray per acre? Did you still use RU and 2-4-D? Great job on the TRUMP sign. Thanks, Bob SWWI.
@wisconsinwhitetail974414 күн бұрын
I got it on Amazon. I sprayed it at around 4qrts to the acre. Some areas may have gotten a second pass and Obviously it was too much. Next year I’m going to try it at 2qrts an acre. It says on the label 3-4 is fine for soybeans. It did a great job at controlling small seeded broadleafs like pig weeds, water hemp, lambs quarter. Only a few rag weeds and grass came up. All I did post was spot spray the grass and ragweed with gly.

Yeah if you don’t have a nice no-till drill it’s the way to go. It eliminates a lot of burn down spraying.
@timmytuffy534415 күн бұрын
Awesome plot! My question is this. Is it illegal to use grown seed and use? Or does that just pertain to roundup ready varieties? I had a farmer tell me that can’t be done with corn so I looked up soybeans as well but only find info on rr soybeans. Anyways looks great . Hope he flies over and sees it on one of his many trips to wisconsin!
@wisconsinwhitetail974414 күн бұрын
Yeah I’ve tried using shelled out corn doesn’t germinate very well 50% or less. But the ones that do come up make good ears. Beans you get a lot better germination from harvested seed. It’s not illegal as long as it’s just a food plot.

Hell yea brother!!! Time for dementia Joe to go!!! Also nothing for nothing but I’m not sure why you don’t use your earthway bag spreader to lay out your soybeans. I do it every year no issues and have great plots of beans way easier than your bucket method
@wisconsinwhitetail974414 күн бұрын
I’ve tried using my bag seeder but even when fully open the soybeans don’t feed through fast enough.

Yeah it’ll probably be the coons more than anything else. But there’s enough other corn in the area this year where I don’t think they will do enough damage to mess up the sign.

Hello, great video! Would you be able to elaborate on what fertilizer/lime you put in this plot to get those results? Thanks!
@wisconsinwhitetail974414 күн бұрын
I don’t think I put any fertilizer down. This was a video from 4-5yrs ago. I rarely fertilized my plots back then. Now I generally put down 3-4 50lb bags of 9-23-31 fertilizer per acre. So a small plot like this 1/3 acre would get about 1 bag if 9-23-31 before it’s tilled.

This is only year 2 of me doing the food plots. I have buckwheat in right now. I don't really like spraying so do you think it'd be ok to till it in before planting for fall? Or do you want it to be laying on top like that? I also wonder if I don't till it in, I wondered if I could mow it after broadcasting and then run the packer over it?
