Where you finally moored up, the pub is called the "Row Barge". The little bridge carries the A320 Woking Road which is a busy road. Just on the otherside of the Road is where I recently worked for 35 years, now enjoying retirement 😊😊

I really like your videos and the air photography is amazing. Also I think Andy is a hero with doing boat maintenance, cooking, working, and driving. I also think he is funny but love you all and just so sad about the cat’s, Tabitha and The black one that has gone walk about. How many do you have now?

I did the river wey during storm Katie, the river was flowing fast and was so high that i couldn't get under a bridge just out of Guilford, so i turned around and got into Guilford, moored up and then woke up at 3am to find my boat doing 360s down the river after my pins came out. Did a night cruise at about 6 knots and ended up staying the rest of the night in Millmead Lock at Guilford. In the morning, the flow from the weir below the lock was extremely fast and the river had gone onto red boards. The lock was also locked so i ended up moored in the lock for a while

Oh wow so sorry to hear about the van - we had exactly the same last year with our car. First the breaks packed in then a couple of weeks after the gearbox/clutch packed in ( couldn't change gear and then would only go into 2nd) Was going to cost £1500 to take apart and see what problem was and then another £1000 at least to fix. We managed to sell her for scrap at £1750 and luckily I still had some savings so managed to get another 2nd hand car. If anything happens to this one there is no savings left to get another as we are retired at over 70 . You really have all my sympathies. Hope Andy manages to get a better job and things sort themselves out for you all.

Speaking as an ex narrowboat owner from the GU and current cruiser owner who regularly goes into the Wash, Lynn, Wisbech, Boston and North Norfolk coast my humble opinion is that you have to be mad taking a narrowboat out there. Aside from the stability, low freeboard and awful handling they don't have the power to get out of trouble or punch a strong tidal flow. Situations can turn on sixpence in The Wash and it''s going to end badly for someone. Does narrowboat insurance even cover going out there?
