Just ordered this vice last night on Amazon so will you have the new part for purchase in the future??

Your new vise should come with the new riser, however, there's still a few out there with the old one attached. If you receive one of the old ones, give us a call and we'll happily replace the riser

Most shops and anglers would reject this fly because of the loose and sloppy way the materials flop around the hook, and because of the slipshod manner that the cone wobbles on the shank. This fly would be the last one in the bin, if it made it to the bin at all. Not saying that it wouldn't catch a fish or two, if it ever got the chance.

Have you ever thought of tying in advance? You do have to tye while in your waders, or you could tye after dark in your cabin. A to of wasted strokes in making this fly. Could sae a lot of time. Good luck on the water though.

Why did the fly finish with a gold head and not a black one like in the front pic?

Very ice. People say purple is attractive to brown trout? I think it might well be. This fly would be nice as well with just the dubbing, ribbed with fine solver wire? :-)
@kennethsanders9632 жыл бұрын
you will never attach that fly to a leader because, you never cleared the eye of the hook "before you torched it with uv light. sloppy job at the end.

You could be showing us clown shoes from that distance. You damn well KNOW nobody can see the details of the sole like that! The ONLY thing that is of use in this video is the shoe name. At least with that information we can find someone who will actually review the shoe, since the MANUFACTURER'S REP WON'T!

Thank you! I was pulling my hair out trying to figure that out!!
@66Cardiff3 жыл бұрын
Trim the hair butts 2mm longer than overall wing and tie the in. You will not have a bunch of loose hair to trim up and it ties in easier on the top of the fly.

Thanks for this! I am wondering if you have had any issues with that tail getting wrapped on the hook? I am going to tie a few......thanks
@kingfisherflyshop3 жыл бұрын
Hey thank you! It does occasionally fowl up. I have been putting a touch of Solarez Flex at the base of the tail to keep it facing the right direction. Hopefully that helps you out!

Are the two small foam pieces mostly for visibilty? Cool fly.
@kingfisherflyshop3 жыл бұрын
Yes, exactly. Even when the fly gets a little soggy, those indicator pieces will stay on the surface. I'm sure they help with flotation, as well.

I don’t really see how this fly has more movement than the typical thin mint bugger. Seems like a lot of extra work to get the same effect. Your thoughts?

Recommendation finish the fly to the back of the bead and less dubbing.

Nice I would try and tie it so it rides hook piont up though with that much weight on it

Hi will these give good grip on a fly rod when wet, will i still have good feel of the rod through them or should i go for an open palm glove, thanks for your help.
@kingfisherflyshop5 жыл бұрын
Hello, they grip well and still retain heat while wet. A open palm glove will have better feel, but might not be as warm. Personally I would prefer a closed palm glove.

Poor technique. Material was not properly anchored to the hook so it was slipping around. Good choice of colors and nice look to the belly.
@kingfisherflyshop5 жыл бұрын
? please elaborate. What technique should we try next time? I don't see any slipping around. Spun the vise. Maybe that is what you saw?
@paulmeyers38323 жыл бұрын
REALLY. It looks good and fish do not care how you tie just that you made it for them.
