This is a 9 year old video, I get it. But I hear a scraping noise from the front of the engine when the camera panned over. That's what the harmonic balancer sounds like when it's pushing back against the front of the engine. I wonder if the Harmonic Balancer was certified no issues when it was sold, because this typical of the C5 and C6 engines and is costly to repair. Hopefully someone will see this if ever searching for a C5. Nice car though.

Mainline, Customline, and Crestline were the three levels of trim. Akin to 150, 210, and Bel Air for Chevy.

My 67 F100 has the ignition switch on the far left of the dash as well. I guess Ford did that until they started putting them on the column.

Why is the black strip missing. Why is the front air splitter missing? Has it been in a collision? They were all used by Hertz rental. Hertz rental is self insured so getting detailed damage reports is impossible.

This is a very reliable car. This is a 3.5 liter V-6 making 249 horses. The C350 with the same 3.5 liter engine makes 302 horses. For 250 horses, it is very fast. Acceleration in sports mode is not disappointing at all. With basic maintenance, it will see you through to 200,000 miles. Gas mileage in eco mode is like a 4 cylinder. This is called the W204 chassis with the M276 engine. This is by far one of the most reliable Mercedes Benz ever made. It shares the same engine as the E350 or W212.

Ford always put the ignition switch on the left side of the dash until the 1964 model year. Probably because the choke control was on the right. They went to auto chokes on all models in 64.

He said AWD but AWD is totally different than SH-AWD…You can get the TL in FWD, AWD, or SH-AWD…and those 3 are all very different. I have the SH-AWD Tech and wouldn’t take anything less

I have this exact 53 with the Ford-o-matic in the Customline style, same color with a dark blue top, in a four door, same tire/wheel set up. Recently swapped the generator for a Powermaster 6V alternator, wow, big difference for the flathead. We enjoy it
