I'm honestly afraid that the Prequal story will demystify Samantha. I honestly find her more interesting when you don't know how or why she became a killer. Sam saying she kills to quenche the voices in her head is all the information the reader needs to know.

I knew something was off about Nigel. He seem nervous to be around Sam.

In regards to the time period, my assumpting was some time in the 80's based on the clothes folks wear, they felt very 80's to me.

I believe Franklin is Melody's late husband, both ran their butcher's business. If you look at the bottom of the headstone, you see a knife and meat cleaver.

I think Franklin Warner is Melodys husband. She said he died sometime before the story began right?

To me this kinda read like a warning to all the kids (or just people in general) who think they connect with serial killers and can get away with murder.

Masterpiece? I don’t think so. It was okay. It honestly felt rushed & unoriginal. I enjoyed some of it but it really isn’t that good. 4/10 at most. The art is 9/10 though

The moral of the story is: Don't play stupid games with people. You do not get to choose what you wager.

I honestly find roku to be interesting charcther and i really hope the last issue pulls off a great ending to a series. And is it still better than ninjak superkillers?

I feel like this comic is more then deserving of a movie or a tv series adaptation, because this was such a fun and intense read, more people should have a read of this book

i'd love to see an anthology series spring from this comic, given the fact of how Sam and Nigel were able to sneak around everyone so easily with so little clues left behind i wouldn't be shocked if there's more serial killers lurking about their world waiting to run into each other or just cause a bit of mayhem wherever

Minister of Blades isn't a new character. Roku fought him in the Roku miniseries by Cullen Bunn. I think this is a rematch of that fight.

Thanks for the review. This series seems a step up from the recent Ninjak series, but to your point there’s still too many convenient plot points/poorly thought out powers. It’s not compelling enough for me to buy this series, i don’t think Roku warrants more story time. I can see why Alien have used her though as it ties back to previous continuity which is obviously a strategy they’re using (a bit too heavily). Side bar, I know you’ve reviewed XO #4 but did you review XO #3?

The dark subject matter and the animals also reminds me of the "Beasts of Burden" series. Check it out if you haven't already.

First and this is convenient cause i was just thinking about Sam's past and putting together a theory on why she is the way she is today.

The scary part to me is that you'd think there'd be some sort of arc or growth, but Sam's arc is flat. She's an animal, a predator. There is no reason for her need to kill beside it being in her nature. Just like the bear in the woods, who kills when another is trespassing on her territory. They may walk on two legs, wear clothes, and sleep in beds, but they'll never stop being animals.

Loved the video only thing i wish the comic explored more was how sam viewed how her kills effect the families and lives of others. Great video 🐻

Aaaargh! What a disappointment. I still have high hopes for Resurgence, though. Looks like Alien Books' Valiant is still going through some growing pains, so I'll let a few instances like this one slide for now.
