Just drill through the gas cylinder, put a nut and bolt through it then you’re done. Did it over the weekend, 10 mins. tops.

for some reason on mine, by the plate where the plate goes into the chair, it's leaning about a quarter inch to one side and i have NO idea why.

The bearing and the clip broke for me. Can't find replacement parts in Amazon India. I checked gas lifts ok Amazon and they seem to come with the steel clip at the bottom.

Best video on here that shows a gas lift properly with the covered removed which is what my chair uses.

Never mind the repair. A friend once replaced it with Bilstein/spring/shock setup. More importantly, who did the music? It's exceptional acoustic work. Applaud.

There is a much simpler fix... Just give the shaft a light clean, then spray WD-40 on it.
