Idk what’s funnier from randomly stumbling across his vid and looking at the game The fact that the AI blatantly cheats in addition to the game itself ignoring the rules, or the fact that with 20 years of power creep even playing like that they would stand no chance for more than 3 turns against the most scuffed of decks in todays game

(I intended to just make a comment about my love for silent hill but it turned into something much longer sorry. But i'm sure someone will appreciate this.) Ah silent hill. A series I have long had a fascination for ... but not at first. I had heard of the series but generally a younger me avoided horror games cause I was afraid of everything. As time went on I started to become slightly more interested in them. Especially when my friends brought over silent hill homecoming to play (Yes I know it's a terrible game but we didn't know that at the time we were just having fun.) At first I noped out. But when I realized they were going to be playing it for a while I decided I had best get comfortable and try to watch it. Eventually participating. I don't remember if I ever got a chance to play but I tried to help them figure stuff out at least. Annnnd for a good while that would be it for me and horror games. Outside of the indie horror game boom that let a lot of now beloved youtubers rise. Markiplier to name one. But my favorite was psychadelicsnake. Although he was enjoying horror well before it exploded in popularity and chose to not be a part of that cause he didn't want in on the "in crowd" at the time. But he introduced me to a game series called fatal frame. It was disturbing and intriguing all at the same time. And I was deeply invested in the stories of all 4 games. Especially the first 2. (We don't talk about the 5th one.) And to this day he is the only one I can watch do a playthrough of those games despite the poor quality bad mic and loud screaming. He took an interest in the lore and tried to get everything he could. Everyone else just joked and made fun of the story. Which really annoyed me. Sure snake made jokes to. But ... idk it was more tolerable at the time for me. He of course played silent hill and plenty of other horror games that caught many people's attention. But my love for silent hill would spark of my own accord in an unlikely place. Left 4 dead 2. A mod map was made that was more or less the silent hill 1 campaign in left 4 dead 2. It was a blast to play through. And as I realized that I liked it. I got curious about the rest of the series and started looking more into the games. It was around this time that I found various videos talking about how beautiful horror game's atmosphere and soundtracks can be. I can't really put into words what this made me feel. Or even what happened next. But everything kinda clicked after that. And my fascination has only grown since.

I have a theory if everyone is still trying to figure this out. Recently a video was uploaded. A 3:45:25 long essay by pannenkoek2012 on super mario 64's invisible walls. Showcasing where they are, how they function, the various types, and how being in an out of bounds one in particular causes mario to instantly die. While this game is a bit newer than sm64. I can't help but wonder if similar death triggers are applicable here. It's worth looking into at the very least. I'd link it but idk if youtube will delete my comment for that or not.

Mario 64's physics aren't orthodox at all, by virtue of it being one of the first 3d games. Going out of bounds in this game doesn't kill you, and I doubt it kills most enemies, though it's possible there's something with krew specifically

There is a damn lightsaber in this game? It looks super cool and seems to have lots of content. I wish we could get ports or remasters of all Ratchet, Jak and Sly games, that'd awesome.

Interesting how this video randomly popped up for me ALMOST 10 years later to the exact date. It's now June 7th where I'm at, but had I started the video just an hour and a half earlier I would've seen it on 06/06/24. Either way this was extremely cool to watch, never seen any Ratchet & Clank speedruns before but they're definitely something. I'll never understand how people manage to break games in these insane ways. I thought I was a curious player and I always try jumping everywhere and mashing myself into corners, but I don't think I've ever found anything useful by doing so. Maybe I've gotten myself stuck or fallen out of the map but nothing as impressive as what's seen here.

Also, umm, what? You're Danish?! That's even more mind-blowing. Saw some Danish in that KZfaq screenshot at the very end (thought it might've been Norwegian because it said 'redigert') but went to your channel and saw that your country was set to Denmark. Checked out one of your first videos, and yup, spotted an Egekilde bottle and obviously you were at that Aarhus train station. I gotta say, your English sounds damn near perfect. Now that I know you're Danish I can hear the slightest of accents but it feels more like placebo than anything else. That's impressive!

Glitches should always be valid when speed running Imho because most, if not all require significant skill to pull off. I tried speed running a few years back because i love gaming and play games i really like to death but and I quickly found I didn't have the skill or patience needed to pull off the tricky glitches required to put me anywhere near a leader board, que sera sera. Still love watching them though

I'm actually one of the few people out there who prefer glitchless speed runs. They're harder to accomplish and more satisfying to watch than "the sprite then walks through the wall and theres the end of the level. Now this is just my opinion, but I believe that circumventing a level is just a boring way to play a game. Don't get me wrong, seeing glitches is still cool as hell and I enjoy seeing how a game can be broken.

Glitchless speedruns might not be harder but they force you to engage with the design of the game and to work around that rather than completely skipping or breaking it.

Fantastic video, you made me invested in a game I'd never heard of before. One tiny detail - you say "a tie to the millisecond", but really it's just a tie to the centisecond, because the game is only tracking centiseconds.

I don't get the point of speedruns that are just RNG. If barely any skill goes into it and it's all luck, why bother trying over and over, and why watch it?
