This video is spot on. Marriage is the foundation of society. Alas, a few of us guys never have the chance to enjoy marriage or a family. All we can do is make the best of the situation. I never wanted to be single in my late middle age. When I was at an age where most guys marry I had a job where I could support a wife, was dating, and wanted to marry a good woman and settle down. That blessing was denied to me by others who declared me to not be marriage material. Now I am older. I have always played for the ladies team and always will. I have no anger for what happened then or now. All I can do is make the best of my life.

My new bride and I were at the show the day the "health guru" died. We were honymooning in NYC after our Cincinnati, OH wedding ceremony on June 4th, 1971. My father was an executive with Billboard Magazine located in Cincy and was able to get us passes to the show that day. Jerome Rodell was unknown to us and sheduled later in the show. We had grown tired and left just before he was to be on stage figuring we could see him and the rest of the program on the TV when it aired later that night. We were very disappointed when we sat down to watch and found our that the Dick Cavett Show had been cancelled for that night. Later, the following day we heard the reason for the cancelled show... that Mr. Rodell, the famed 'health advocate' , died on the stage as Dick C.was interviewing him! Ergo, we certainly had no chance to exhibit 'false memory' of the historic account!

I'm sure I was in the audience. Around this time I was taking guitar lessons from him every week. I had Wednesdays off, and he was doing his K-Earth gig every weekday morning, so we met at MacArthur Park at a picnic table every Wednesday at 10. He's doing a bit better these days. I only wish he still had time for his own stuff.

I saw a short clip that was released...It does not show the man who died . But it does show about 5 seconds of the guest and the Host (Dick Cavett's) reaction of concern that this man had began to fall out of his chair.
