@@henryclark5486 are you loosing it on plane or just idle in the water? Have you checked what source the unit is looking and is the correct one? Properly networked to that unit? Is the network for internal sonar channel 1 and 2 on and able to network (in the menu system)?

no problem glad you enjoyed it. Mind you this video goes from beginner to super advance techniques. Most users will only need the first half at best. The active target is super user friendly and designed to be of all the brands. You don't have to keep adjusting to be honest. This video was done for beginners to super advance at the high performance level. My biggest thing is jump in someone's boat who has one and see if its something you will use. Cheers

my main lake didn't have some massive islands either in there and had small islands done. you just email or flag it for tech support on your map and request they do the outline of the lake for your map. They do it usually pretty quick and when you redownload its there.

theres a list of all compatible units on the website for cmap genesis. Most units nowadays are compatible with the maps that having the mapping feature

just acknowledge it, it'll have a little bell icon on the bottom left, just ignore it and keep along with the video.

yes but you've got to under stand your limitations. 455khz is going to have more range and deeper penetration but not as much details. You're going to have increase the contrast quite a bit. You are probably at the sidescan and downscan limits though

high speed transducers?

you can try to update it via a lowrance unit. But it's probably unrelated to the motor itself. Replacing the batteries and making sure it's synced first before trouble shooting the motor. The foot pedal may be the issue.

Dont program your unit in simulator mode. It will loose the settings. Keep it in regular mode. We only do it for demonstration purposes only

Depending on what sonar frequencies your using. 455 and a 1200khz is probably gonna be fine. But if their using ones close, then probably not. Or just shut down one transducer

Not sure what maps you have on your unit. You could try putting it in easy mode.

@@hookedntravel Hi thanks for responding, I am using C-Map reveal on HDS Live 7. The outline appears on most of the chart text on both the reveal and the discovery that came with the unit and is much thicker than the outline on the overlay items that I created, I couldn't find any easy mode settings only found the option for chart are full, medium or low which end up removing the text from the chart completely and remove chart details.

How is the orientation of the transducer? Is the screen black?

@@hookedntravel the transducer is pole mounted at the front of the boat. In forward mode the screen is about 2 inches wide on the left of my HDS9 and the rest is black.

I was wondering if I should go back to factory default modes and start again?

@@tonyhanna1392 yeah maybe try that. Not hard to adjust settings again. Transducer is in the water when your using it? It’s really hard for me to troubleshoot from here. Is it in forward mode? Sometimes you might have to hit stable view on and off.

@@hookedntravel its working fine in Scout mode. Ive sent Lowrance some photos of the set up and screen. Hopefully it will be something simple. Thanks for your help.

The yellow is just the wake-up wire. So it will turn on the active target when you turn on the fishfinder. That’s one way to do it. The other is tap the yellow into the red wire. Black wire goes to negative terminal on your battery and red to positive after you put an inline fuse then to battery

Depending on motor but usually once it get below 11 it will have trouble starting. Most mercs are around 11.

Are you talking the menu settings on the right side of the screen or the overlays? Do you have proper voltage? And could there be a loose connection at the back of the unit, a wire connection like at the fuse, or at the battery? Sometimes this will happen if it’s wired with proper wire gauge too.

​@@hookedntravel Thank you. I think it was voltage. I had 1 positive terminal tha was loose enough to cause that. On a couple of your screens it looked like you had a drop down menu on the left side. On thise same screens I didn't have those. Could you tell me why it doesn't seem to be picking up fish ? Ice got depth, water temp, coarse but zero fish when there's literally fish jumping all around my boat ? It didn't pick up even 1 fish after putting around for almost 3 hours ?

@@captainmorgan5106 it could be the main menu screen. Hit the gear icon and it will bring up the main menu. What’s the time stamp on the video so I know exactly what you mean? How deep are you? And do you have the sensitivity up?

​@@hookedntravel When you're showing the "look ahead" info at 1:35 you have some icons on the left of the map. Mine doesn't have those Icons on the left. I was in multiple depth from 10' - 85' for about 3 hours. It never marked a single fish. It was showing the depths and bottom contour just fine. I just didn't know if I had to literally turn on the fish finder part of this. I did have to go in and turn on the depth finder. When I fired it up the very first time the screen just showed "stopped". I had to KZfaq that and that's when I actually found out how to find the depth finder menu. It was like everything was turned off from the factory.

@@captainmorgan5106 those icons are there for the NMEA network. Basically extra features to hook into the NMEA network for hooking up to the engine, or motorguide or vessel view. It’s advance features only needed if you have those networked with extra purchases.

What’s the price points are you looking at?

Springfield plug in, and it had the stock alumacraft bicycle seat but I switched it out for the bass pro one. The stock one was too uncomfortable. Looks beautiful but still feels too hard

the transducers are pretty durable but for best practice yes keep it in the water. If you're sitting in your driveway simply turn off the transducer and hit STOP. Do the settings, close as you can get them in the driveway until you're in the water. Also every lake, river, set of conditions your gonna tweak your settings anyways. When you are doing this video also have the demo mode off. In regular mode as if your in the water. Demo mode does not save settings.

It's weird I get a noisy image unless I'm getting fast than 4 mph

@@CTRadventures when you're adjusting your settings, you are having it on regular mode. We just do it on demo mode in store to simulate on the water. Do not do the settings in demo mode
