100% this is really important in all combat sports. Being a boxer myself it’s important to take these factors into account but also how experienced they are and therefore how hard you should go. As obviously there are no belts in boxing and some people do tend to get a bit carried away. 😂

None of this works in the real world. A real fight would get you eaten in that position

You’re right because in the real world the escape would be much simpler than this. “Street fighters” don’t actually know how to hold somebody down. A practical side control escape in a street fight requires just two frames and a good bridge

Great convo! Would love to see more content like this! You've been an amazing addition to the gym 😇 I'm not the only person that has asked, "Which classes is Chase teaching?" You have a unique style of conducting the classes; making Jiu-jitsu fun & easy to digest. Excited to see where your media pages go from here! Gang Gang 🤙

At 03:01, is it possible to be able to grab him and pull him down into an armbar? Like maybe grab the arm that's across your belly and swing your left leg over his head?

how nice of the blue belt to apply a completely unrealisitic side control with 0 cross face whatsoever so that u could feel good about yourself teaching nonsense. not even a half decent while belt is going to let you get either of those 2 arms free to frame on his neck let alone get ur hand under his stomach from the hip. you're going to be stuck in side control forever trying this as you have both of your arms trapped unable to move.

Like everything and every technique with BJJ, there is NO secret weapon that will work 100% of the time. There is no single technique that will work even 20-30% of the time. Every technique is a different tool in the toolbox. The practitioner brings his/her entire toolbox to every roll. That right arm isn’t gonna slide so effortlessly under an experienced opponents torso when he’s applying hard core pressure. But if the technique (the tool) is taken from the toolbox and applied at the “right” time, when the opponent is tiring or is in transition, then it can be a useful “step” in an ultimate reversal or sweep. Take everything in context and look for techniques that fit your game.

Like. Like. Like. Like. Like. Like. Aaaarrrrggh! Had to tap after less than two minutes of hearing this instructor say “like” half a million times. Please, folks, if you’re posting content, or providing instruction in just about any setting, rid your speech of filler nonsense, e.g. “like,” “so,” “you know,” “uh,” “umm,” “sort of,” etc.. Thank you.

it only works on white belts that have about 3 lessons under their belt. as soon as they know how to apply a proper cross face and to keep the right arm trapped none of these garbage escapes work .

I’m sure one could make this work with practice, but I feel like there are much better techniques you could spend you time learning that are just as efficient and less dangerous. I personally do NOT like this technique at all. Just my opinion.

This is a good way to get your right arm caught in a near side armbar. Don’t do this kids
@usbsol
@usbsol Ай бұрын
If you keep your arm close and down by your side, it is very difficult for an opponent to get control of it in time to get an armbar.

@teena-tz7lr
@teena-tz7lr Ай бұрын
yea these clowns always demo side control with teh guy on top doing everything wrong to allow them to escape so they look good. notice how they never apply a real side control with heavy cross face and they're never keeping the arm trapped not allowing it to frame on the hip(which is what any decent white belt will prevent u doing)
@ebonpraetor

As soon as you go to your side, your opponent is going to seatbelt using your "non-pocket" arm, slide their knee into your back, and use that as a pillow to drag you into a back take.
