Do you only use a spinning reel and rod? I picked up off of marketplace yesterday a St Croix premier 6’6 spinning rod for $20. The guy didn’t know what he had. Said his son had moved away and left it there.

I like to drop my canoe in during hunting season and fish while I keep an eye on the bank to hunt. Mix both worlds into one.

That's good stuff brother. Randomly decide you've had enough editing and its time to fish. Putting together a rod and reel then a small box of lures...bingo. Off and running like a kid again. I’ve hit a new PB largemouth twice this year. Mine is now 4.7lb. Took my wife out a few days ago and she caught a 5.35lb on a whopper plopper! She hasn’t fished in years and even then barely did it but this year she’s been on the with me several times.

I use that color in the Yum Dinger. I’ve had bass leave cover ten to twelve feet away to hit it.

I love these small stream videos. It's amazing what you can catch in water that's two feet deep or less. I have friends that will take a trip to Alaska in order to be dropped off in the wilderness and fish in small streams, but will not even think of trying to fish in the numerous small streams close to where they live. Granted its not the same kind of fish that you will catch in Alaska, but just think of what you are missing out on.

I wade a lot of water ways with a lot of overhang. Quickly disabused me of the standard 7’3 med/heavy bass rod. I use a 6’ medium fast with a BFS or a 6’ light with spinning reel. I don’t care what anyone says, more maneuverability and ease of use is more time fishing and having fun and can still handle large bass
