I use a 2oz -5oz cylinder style lead with an eyelet.. my local shop sells them. Its the only shop that I have found that has them but they work extremely well in the ocean.. not sure of there name but them look like baby carrot essentially. Lol

Oh... and also, I just bought a Daiwa BG 3500. Fishing off cliff for rockcods... and gonna use 40lbs j-braid with 50lbs mono leader. Do u think I need a BG 5000? Rock fish is just about 3 lbs ... sometimes with some cabazon... landed a 21 inch green ling last week... slim guy!

I have good luck with a slip bobber. Try to fish it 2 or 3 foot off bottom. Lure stays long enough so fish see it for awhile then bite. Get a package of herring and take 6 with you and leave the rest in freezer for next trip, I use half a herring each baiting and the smell helps get them on the bite.I salt them to help them firm up over night.

Oh I've fished with a slip bobber for many years for lings off these rocks. But typically on much calmer ocean. The rougher ocean tends to get more snags when fishing with bobber close to the bottom..

how deep do you set your slip bobber?
@tylerkellismith
@tylerkellismith 4 жыл бұрын
@@georgen8911 depends on where I'm fishing.. I normally try to find the how deep of water I'm fishing in each spot then come up about 3 ft at least sometime a little more depending on how rought he ocean is..

How accessible is this location?
@tylerkellismith
@tylerkellismith 4 жыл бұрын
It's a bit of a hike up and down rocks and cliffs but it's a great spot if your able body and willing to stand in a sketchy spot. If the ocean is rough this wouldn't be the spot to be tho.
