Those rules are valid worldwide? How about in Ireland?
@BathGardenCenter
@BathGardenCenter 2 күн бұрын
@@Gabriele-qq7yv Hi there! In general, this information can be applied worldwide. Every tree will go through the establishment, growth, and maturity phases, and the suggestions provided in this video regarding when and how to fertilize will also generally remain the same. Please do keep in mind though that growing conditions will most definitely be different in Ireland than they are here in Colorado, and seasonal differences may also have an effect on how a tree grows there vs here. We always recommend that you consult a professional in your area to make sure that you account for any variations based on your location. Hope this helps!

My geraniums have stopped flowering, I have them in a pot outside, high desert, 90-100 degrees during the day. How can I make it flower again?
@BathGardenCenter
@BathGardenCenter 15 күн бұрын
Hello! Your geraniums could very well be experiencing heat stress if they are sitting in direct sun and its been around 100 degrees consistently. We would recommend moving them to a slightly cooler area, if possible, where they still receive around 6 hours of sunlight per day. Also, apply a fertilizer with high NPK numbers, eg 20-20-20. This, paired with slightly cooler temperatures, should encourage your geraniums to start blooming again! It is also helpful to deadhead the plant once blooms are spent. This will encourage the plant to put energy towards producing more blooms instead of putting energy towards seed production. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Good video thanks. I have a ranch where some wildflowers grow naturally. I would like to add more wildflowers out in one of my 8 acre fields. The field has wild grasses mainly & weeds are likely as well. What’s the chance of seeds germinating if I merely spread them around the existing grass & foliage in that large field?
@BathGardenCenter
@BathGardenCenter Ай бұрын
Hello! There is definitely a chance that some of the wildflower seed would germinate if you spread it in with the existing plants/grasses. Our perennials manager recommends that you sow the seed heavily and try to rake it in if you can. I understand this might not be extremely realistic with 8 acres. If anything, just spread the seed very heavily and it is more likely than not that at least some of the seed will germinate!

Whens the best time of day to water? The leaves on my gerainiums looking wiltery
@BathGardenCenter
@BathGardenCenter 2 ай бұрын
Hello! It is always best to water in the morning! This gives them enough time to soak up the moisture they need before the heat sets in. The leaves still may look a little wilted during the hottest part of the day, but this is likely just the plant conserving energy. If they don't perk back up when the day cools down, give them a little more water!

Great video! I was also curious about how often should I water the plants?
@BathGardenCenter
@BathGardenCenter 2 ай бұрын
It is difficult to say exactly how much to water, as this will depend very much on how warm the weather is, where they are located, pot size, etc. We recommend feeling the soil, and it if the top inch is dry to the touch, its time to water! When you water, be sure to water thoroughly and let the excess water drain out the bottom. Checking the soil several times per week especially during the heat of the summer is recommended!

Hello! All of the plants in the background are mums, actually! When we created this video, it was early in the season so they were just not in bloom yet. Unlike a lot of other retailers, we don't force our mums to bloom early. We let them bloom naturally, and purchasing mums before they are in bloom actually means you will get to enjoy their blooms for longer. Let us know if we can help clarify anything else!

What time is the best time to fertilize Orchids in the morning or evening
@BathGardenCenter
@BathGardenCenter 4 ай бұрын
Hello! Fertilizing isn't specific to the time of day, although watering in the morning will allow excess moisture to evaporate quicker to help prevent bacteria build up on the stem and leaves. Orchid fertilizing is specific to dilution and frequency in order to have the healthiest plant with the largest blooms. Here at Bath, we recommend half the dilution rate of what is recommended on the fertilizing container. Fertilize every other watering is ideal, as this will help to flush out the salts that may build up from frequent fertilizing. I hope this answers your question! Please let us know if we can help with anything else. :)

Thank you so much for this video! I love plants but unfortunately so do my cats and if they can reach them, they will chew on the leaves. Wall plants are beautiful, but some counters deserve a little tlc, and so closed terrariums are what I'm thinking about doing. May need to get museum putty though to keep them from knocking them over...
@BathGardenCenter
@BathGardenCenter 4 ай бұрын
Hmm yes, that does sound like a dilemma. Closed terrariums may be the perfect option for you. Depending on the size also, it may be heavy enough that your cats will not be able to knock it over. Since many of them include soil and rock and sometimes sand, not to mention water, terrariums can be somewhat heavy. Let us know if we can help with your terrarium journey!

Which fertilizer for newly transplant orchids
@BathGardenCenter
@BathGardenCenter 7 ай бұрын
Hello! If you have just recently repotted or transplanted an orchid, we suggest waiting a couple of weeks (2-4 weeks) before fertilizing. Repotting plants can put the plant under some stress, and fertilizing the plant immediately can add more stress on top of that, which in some cases can set back the plant or cause it to die. Give it some time to settle into its new pot or environment, then fertilize it with an nitrogen rich orchid fertilizer like this one: shop.bathgardencenter.com/item/080986051210/Grow-More-Orchid-Fertilizer-1-25-lb Also, be sure not to fertilize too heavily. You may think you are doing your orchid a favor, but too much fertilizer will burn the roots of the plant and it may not be able to recover. Sometimes less is more. :) If you have any other questions, let us know!!

Is it ok if I don't use fertilizer at all? 🤔
@BathGardenCenter
@BathGardenCenter 8 ай бұрын
It is not required that you use fertilizer on your annual flowers, however they may begin to look scraggly, dull, or unhealthy if they lack the nutrients necessary to grow strong and healthy and vibrant. We recommend fertilizing to get the most out of your annual plants, though that is a decision that is completely up to you!

The ladybugs that are sold are only native to certain parts of the US and are also almost always captured from the wild, which is not eco-friendly. Keeping whatever native ladybugs are in your garden is amazingggg. But releasing purchased ones is not a great idea.
@BathGardenCenter
@BathGardenCenter 8 ай бұрын
Hello! We appreciate your opinion on this matter. However, we would like to point out that we acquire ladybugs from a very environmentally conscious, family owned company. We would not sell ladybug species that would not survive in the area, and they actually thrive in many different environments. Ladybugs do an amazing job of helping control unwanted pest populations, reducing the need to use harsh chemicals that have a negative impact on our environments. Releasing ladybugs has no negative impact on the ladybugs themselves or the environments they are introduced into, and in our opinion, it is a significantly better option to introduce ladybugs into your garden areas than it is to use harsh chemical pesticides that have been proven to have many negative side affects.
