The problem in Thailand is the immigration. Every year you have to apply for new visa. You can only apply one month before you old visa expire but it takes 6 weeks before you get the new one... You have no rights whatsoever even if you are married and have kids. Well I live here also, but anyway I think other countries give you some advantages at least. Don't know about Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos is better in that aspect.

Have you checked out Hua Hin/Cha Am yet? 🤔👍 Maybe mention also that, before leaving the USA, get a Wise card, and open a Charles Schwab checking account. The Wise card is awesome for moving money between/among different currencies (and pays 4.75% interest on your balance), and Schwab reimburses Foreign ATM fees once a month. Much easier to get both while you still have a USA mailing address. Liked and Subscribed!

You are not able to get a tourist visa when you land in Thailand. You are only able to get a “visa on arrival” when you land. The difference between the two is that you can change the “tourist visa” to a “education visa” or any other visa if you decide you want to stay longer. With “visa on arrival” you’re not able to transfer that to another visa. You can only apply for a tourist visa if you are not in the Thailand country

Many cant grasp how BIG Bangkok is.. Its more than double the size than New york and have around 5-6 million more people than Newyork.(many work in bangkok but are written home in other parts of Thailand) And the best? Bangkok is between 65-70%(or more) cheaper to live in very comfortable permanent than most major American citys and ALOT safer too Heck i live a MONTH here on what my buddy pays in rent for a small old rundown apartment in NY
