Tyler I found your video as I'm interested in trials riding with my 11yr old. He's about 1.5 meters tall, 45kg and very athletic. Would it be a huge mistake to get a Beta Evo 200 to share? He rides his klx140 and 400EX very well. I know it would be ideal to start out on the Evo 80 but is the 200 too big of a jump in your opinion?

Or possibly an Evo 125? Him and I have been both been enjoying your videos. I want him to learn proper technique before he gets a more powerful machine and I've heard trials engines don't hit as hard as an mx bike.

It all depends if you want to compete in trials , when he's 12 he can ride a 125 in competition so that would probably be the better fit 👍

cute vid we all wish this was our childhood, we just got a 20 which is a bit too big for my Son and he uses it more like an MX bike than trials bike currently - im experimenting with 2 x Dewalt 18v lipo`s because he keeps dropping the bike due to the weight of the Lead batteries - Boost bikes are v pricey and dont even have supply.

Great riding, and I bet he has improved a lot since this was filmed! I am trying to decide between the Oset 16 and 20" for my 5.5 year old daughter, she is quite tall for her age so leaning towards the 20" to have it last a good few years, do you have any advice on this? Thanks

Hi , so sorry I've only just seen your comment , obviously she will be 6 nearly 7 now so a 20R or medium wheel beta would be perfect , hope she is still riding, Yes Tyler has advanced alot since this video and is now on a big wheel beta 80

Hey man I am looking to get a trial bike for my kid that is 10 he already rides a yz 85 2stroke dirt bike, but I am looking for a electric trails bike any suggestions.
@dogscooby
@dogscooby 5 жыл бұрын
Ayup mate , if he's 10 and it's electric your wanting then he will need the oset 24.0R as the others will be too small , if you go to look at some just remember that in trials you stand up on the bike because if you get him to sit down the bike will appear to be way too big for him but when he's stood up it will be perfect , if you check out some of my other videos Tyler is riding with a friend who is on a 24.0R and was 9 years old at the time , hope this helps

He is an excellent rider! I am jealous as well! I've actually been looking to get a 24 myself. You should try to teach him the double blip method to get over obstacles. He definitely doesn't seem to have any problems getting over them already ;) but I think teaching him to land his front wheel on the obstacle first, boosting him up, would help him later on and develop more throttle control as well as utilize the rear suspension to its full capability. His, albeit pretty sweet wheelies ;), cause the rear wheel to smack into the object and he goes over on his skid plate. Although there is nothing wrong with this, teaching him to sort of "hop" over the obstacle, using a double blip-type method, would easily open more doors in the future to learning how to continue a wheelie, perhaps, after getting over the obstacle, or set himself up for another obstacle soon after. Just some friendly suggestions :)

May I ask how you have taught him or did he pick most of this up himself? My Daughter rides (Im actually an OSET dealer too) but Ive never ridden trials myself and have trouble explaining to her what to do! I think the next step for her is to learn to wheelie, as this will help her overcome bigger obsticals. But she doesnt really listen to me when I try and teach her the technique.
@dogscooby
@dogscooby 6 жыл бұрын
apr07 thanks for your comment , I'm not from a trials background I was also moto-x and short circuit riding , so it was a case of me learning the techniques by watching the adults then tried to teach Tyler the basics , then it's just a case of as much bike time as possible , initially I turned the response up and got him to roll to as near as a stand still as he could and then snap the throttle to get the front wheel up just so he could see how it felt to wheelie then we started to introduce a bit of technique such as leaning back slightly and pulling on the bars, once he was doing that I reduced the response down little by little so he was using body movement instead of all throttle, hope this helps buddy
@dogscooby
@dogscooby 6 жыл бұрын
apr07 if you watch this one now he's a bit older you can see how he's naturally started using his knees aswel to make the bike squat before an obstacle kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n-Bhe6p_xLK2o30.html

dogscooby thankyou for the replies! He's doing great. My Daughter is ok but I don't think she trusts me. From watching your Son it's clear she needs to loosen up a bit, look up and just not be so scared of what could go wrong. I'll give here credit for her throttle control, Ive had the response all the way up and explained if she just stands up and feeds the power on it will wheelie, but she still manages to crawl off! It will help her so much instead of just hitting stuff and riding over it. Thanks again!

Daren Jacobson this is the 20lite not the 20R mate , it's pretty much a 16.0 with big wheels , he practices with a lad who has a 24.0 and they are alot bigger than the 20.0R , he's now on the 20.0R which he's just starting to fit nice , I will measure him when I get home from work so you can compare to one of my latest videos which is him on the 20.0R
