I get daily multiple calls and have for the past few years from some scam wanting donations for a police fund. I think I pissed them off because I have has as many as 7 calls within an hour.

I constantly get "scam likely" on my caller id. The other thing I can't figure out is how I get a voicemail when my phone never rang🤔

You can shove precedent up your ass! The Supreme Court did away with all precedents. The shit that's going to be over turned by courts in the next couple of years will blow your fucking mind!

Just like everything else. The DNC “do not call” directory changes per areas code to be called. The government is not helping it’s taking our hard earned money and sending it to homies while we can’t even answer our phones anymore. 18 spam calls a day. F off DNC!

I get so many as a business owner I’m beyond annoyed. I get 5-10 a day and sometimes they even spoof their numbers as local to get me to answer. Frustrating is an understatement

It’s the incessant spoof texting that’s now the annoying gnat

Not as much as it used to?? You must be kidding, I get multiple spam calls everyday. Its way worse now then it has ever been.

This. It has been getting progressively worse. For the longest time I used to not get any spam calls, maybe once a month at most. Now I get them daily.

It's gotten worse since biden got in. And that's not a joke it's the fact I've watched the scam calls.Get way worse.I had to get rid of my old phone because of it.And my landline has the best call blocking feature ever.I don't think anybody's called that phone in years with the telemarketer screening. It straight up hangs up on them and they don't even have a chance to get through to make a phone call to the house. It's sad when a local landline company that's over a hundred years old can do better than a cell company can at block in this junk. And not to mention our own federal government, God forbid they do anything.No, they're too busy funding.The wars in ukraine instead of the f c c breaking down on these scam calls. We're censorship on social media but god forbid they do anything about the scam calls

Let's not delude ourselves into thinking we live in the future yet... IVR are universally hated by so many customers. As far as I like to believe I live in a world where robots are like the ones in the movies, the level of advancements in voice recognition is nowhere near the stage where it can even begin to think it can ask questions like "what do you want?" At least with being put on hold, one can do other things. IVR is an incredibly, incredibly horrible and time wasting experience for customers, I will do everything and anything I can to avoid a business that utilizes IVR

Perhaps this is an oversimplification but why not just associate phone numbers with DNS names then piggyback off existing standards?

Anytime you can drop telecom history into a vid, please please keep doing so! Far from a "dry" topic as derided, it's not only a highly fascinating techno-historical subject but important to comprehend as we navigate onwards. Thanks yall!

The one problem I see with stir/shaken is that it has a gatekeeper bottleneck. Why can't the validation service provider be the terminating Network by default?
@SamuelLay3 жыл бұрын
The originating network is the one who knows what caller ID belongs to what customer. So only they can validate that the number belongs to them.
