What kind of shingles y’all using?
@RoofnSolar4 ай бұрын
For this project we used the Malarkey Vista, which is a Class 4 Modified Polymer shingle. Which we paired with the Malarkey EZ Ridge which shares the same characteristics of the shingle.

How do they do for metal roofs???
@RoofnSolar4 ай бұрын
They actually have cougar paws designed for metal roofs! They have magnets underneath the boot to help you stick to the metal roofs, these are mainly for asphalt shingle, tile, and slate roofs
@RoofnSolar4 ай бұрын
These are better for asphalt, tile, slate, and wood shake! They have a different version intended for metal roofs

@@RoofnSolar ok. I thought the cougar paws and these were the same. Need me some cougar paws now. I use vans for shingle and so far they have been the best grip shoes for me. Need to definitely get something special for metal roofs.

Just one question, are they comfortable to wear all day on the roof?
@RoofnSolar5 ай бұрын
Honestly, they’re not too bad for an hour or two but I wouldn’t say they’re comfortable to wear all day.. it also depends on how steep the roof is!

@@RoofnSolarFlorida. Just KZfaq loading shingles on roofs. We use conveyor boom trucks and/or knuckle crane trucks to load roofs. Dangerous job tho. Some roofs are too steep and high but with cougar paws they give me comfort. But I don’t load anything above 8/12 pitch. Anything above 8/12 they can kiss my grits 😂😂😂 but besides that the pads last me a good month or two before needing to replace them especially being on roofs daily and doing 1-5 jobs a day avg 20-100SQ of shingles loaded on a roof. That’ll calculate the amount of walking I do and reason I eat up the pads so quickly and they not cheap! $40 a pair of replacements
