Have really enjoyed your Part 1. and Part 2 videos on the Revell Spitfire Mk II. Up till now I have avoided buying Revell 1/32 scale kits. Due to some of the negative reviews I have seen by self appointed Spitfire experts who seem to have a personal grudge against Revell. Now. I am seriously considering getting the Revell MkII and the Mk IX.

Well, I'm 100% sold on getting one now. I can't get over how much detail there is on the inside of this thing, it's really a professionally built model without all of that extra work. And that stressed skin effect is a lot nice than I thought it would be. Thanks for making this video :)

I so keenly empathise with you that it beggars the imagination! Following a fortnight's stay in hospital, and my temporary relocation to a care facility, the staff of my new residence entered my room in my absence, confiscated a leaf green plastic bag marked Patient's Belongings that bore (amongst innumerable important personal items) my notebook computer with NINE YEARS of my fiction writing, especially a novel series the first four books of which comprised 1,192 pages! Moreover, material requiring extensive editing meant roughly another 1,500-2,000 pp. I fervently wish that you since have managed to recover, that you have been able to return to your modelling build videos.

In re the skylight fenestration of ten windows upon the superstructure that looks down into the engineering compartment aft of amidships, which we first see at 24:50, it seems to me one would do well to 1) include interior detailing, including appropriate crew figures, and 2) a reasonable illumination.

@@modart6339 Why didn't you record that proCess?🤭 No worries,I love ww1 aircraft and have already made this kit.I made Oswald Boelcke's DII and researched all the info I needed to make a decent enough copy,even the swirly circular patterns on the lower starboard wing upperside.🤓

I've bought many kits from Wingsy. They produce awesome 109's as well as some great Japanese subjects in 1/48 scale. Can't recommend them highly enough ... & they're from Ukraine too 🌻🌻🌻

Hi Modart. I am currently working on the RE8 which has been languishing in my stash and was hoping to see how you got the struts and top wing on. I am at that stage and haven't tried to wing struts yet but the cabane struts seem as loose and wobbly as hell and I didn't see the struts and top wing assembly in your videos. Have I missed something or is a real pain to fit them
@modart63399 ай бұрын
Hi William Thanks for the comment and view of the video. The wing struts are incredibly fiddly and do need some time to get in place. Use the box as a jig to stand the model up on whilst the top/wing and struts are drying I found helped but it is a pain, this is the one model with a big surface area to deal with. I think you can find some info on the WingnutWings website of how to use the box as a jig. Hope to be of help
@williamhillocks75189 ай бұрын
Hi Modart, Many thanks for your quick and useful reply. It is of some comfort that the more skilled model makers can have the same problems as me. It is the central struts that are rather wobbly for me and the wing struts are a good fit. I will try a few dry fit experiments including fitting upside down like the instructions show and there is always the box to use to get the wing angle correct. Next time I will start on the Staultaube. The rigging will be a challenge but at least it is a monoplane.@@modart6339
@williamhillocks75189 ай бұрын
Hi Modart, just to add that I got the top wing and struts on ok and they are sitting true. Various improvised jigs, using the box and a lot of patience paid off. Many thanks again for the advice

It`s not wise to use that extra thin cement on the major parts like wings and fuselage. The extra thin is good for smaller parts. For the bigger parts, you must use the thicker plastic cement types that will stay on longer, melting the plastic so the bond becomes stronger.

Looks good, im starting my journey back into model building after about 10 years. Also. The reason why the Kates wings are so huge is to create more lift for a faster takeoff as it was an earky carried based mono wing plane
