The real flight this was based on was Air Canada flight 143. I don't get why they didn't just yse the real flight number. They used the real name of the Captain for Pete's sake!

Love this movie. All the remakes never compare. It's a great classic. I will say given the period it is pretty campy and sexist. The social square dance really takes a peek at the times. Lights go out and the ladies know exactly how to respond with getting candles. They owe a lot to those wonen Then farm scene is by far the best. That little lady sets out a course meal for the professor in a kitchen that's not even hers. Why he would have starved if not for her. 😂 love love love that movie 🎉

I get this trailer (and this TV miniseries) is made in the 90's but the way it shows, waiting for an actual series at that time would have been redundant as this "trailer" shows exactly what happened.

Thank you for this wonderful behind-the-scenes video. I found it fascinating. I just watched the movie for the first time today and thought that the special effects were simply amazing for that period in time. I'm impressed by how much work went into the miniature buildings in Los Angeles.

I really hate this sequel. how are there survivors? Everyone at the bow most likely died, not to mention the ballroom and upper decks after the liner capsized? I can get onboard (no pun) with the salvage villain trope or whatever but I can’t deal with the hate at the beginning lover at the end situation between “monkey” and the captain

This is worst, dumbest movie ever fucking made. My friend and I were in awe at how fucking terrible, and low budget it was. At one point it looked like they filmed in the stockroom of a Walmart. The main character was a side goon in every other movie he’d been in, and always had the stupidest look on his face. We laughed our ASSES off, and we weren’t even stoned. I recommend.

Wow. What an amazing documentary. I've seen several different documentaries on this miraculous survival story including the movie. This is much better than the movie. Not to be disrespectful. To get this perspective is phenomenal. To get to hear & see the interviews with the actual survivors ow they coped (& are still coping) is surreal to a certain extent. Nobody else could have narrated this better than Martin Sheen. His voice puts a special stamp that embodies their miraculous story. RIP to those who sadly didn't make it as the 51st anniversary of this special story approaches.
