Zero is not really a reploid, reploids are based off megaman X who was built by dr light but was sealed then found by dr cain, then dr cain studied X and built the reploids based off X, then a bit later on they found zero's capsule and woke him up but he was built by dr wily.... fast forward a lot in the story, zero had a virus in him, dr weil was one of the scientists that studied zero's body to find a a cure for the virus but he reprogrammed zero into omega while original zero's data was sepperated from his original body, then megaman X and Zero in his fake body stop weil and omega, they seal omega and launch him into space then dr weil gets placed into a robotic body and forced to roam the wastelands without being able to die anymore he isnt a robot he is a human placed inside a robot body

The reason is the same for why x looks different, they were upgraded with the times. Think of how X in x8 has a much sleeker design, or how zero got the shoulder pads in X2.

Many complained about the artstyle, it pulled the game down a notch IMO. That's why I always use skin mods, especially the X1 Zero one. It looks damn cool on the Z artstyle.

@Jared 11_24 Zero killed Colonel because of his stupid Pride thing. Colonel invited zero to talk and then zero decided to attack colonel which leads to them fighting and after his brother's death Iris went Berserk or lost her mind and transformed so zero had no option but to kill her.

LordTachanka Well omega isn’t really the original zero. Just his body. Zero in mega man zero and in mega man x are the same AI.

I think the implication here is that Omega is the true Zero Wily intended to build. Think about how Zero behaves in that fateful first fight with sigma. Seems a fair bit like Omega, doesn’t it? And in one of X5’s endings, we see a fully powered up maverick Zero, which is also similar to Omega. Zero only began to act like the Zero we know and love after his battle with sigma. Omega truly is the original Zero. A bloodthirsty god of destruction, intended to wipe out the last of Light’s legacy. Somehow, during the Elf Wars, I’m guessing. They managed to put the “Heart” of the Zero we know and love into the copy body we see in this series. Not hard to believe since X2 was all about rebuilding Zero. Technically, I guess this means that Omega’s body isn’t even the original Zero body. Huh?

@@hadouradiance3566 He isn't Zero's body , Omega is just an AI brain built inside Zero's original body and Dr Weil took out Zero's brain ditching it somewhere and Ciel's Ancestor basically took that brain which was Zero's and made an identical body which is the one Zero is using now.

@@shaggyturtlestudios And the crazy part was in just the span of 4 years the dude wiped out 90% of reploids and 40 percent of the human race. That is insane. I honestly think the unsung hero in all of this was in fact Sigma for defeating Zero when he did. Unfortunately the virus that once infected Sero transferred to him. But if not for Sigma Zero would've already wiped out the entire planet.

@@theinherit116 weil just brought out zero's true programming thats why he says he brought out his true power, that's how zero was always intended to be when dr wily built him, weil just renamed him omega and made zero obey him instead of wily, zero was never intended to have free will like megaman X that was a flaw in his programing that the virus was supposed to correct

Reploids were based on the mechanical and coding designs of X, who was designed to be a robot master with entirely free will. (This title doesn't technically apply to zero, for reasons of spoiler i will not say) The Reploids of the X, Zero and ZX series of megaman games never had the burden of the laws of robotics. Therefore, they were able to kill without violating their directives.

The rules of robotics are not actually a thing in Mega Man but it's true that X, Zero and reploids have free will compared to robots from before
