hi both love the tou Tube shares and especually the recent europe trip. As we have have just had a new D68 in April we are find your guidance useful. I lack some confidence in making the adjustments you are making. One items related to the new plug points you have installed, did you cable these to the portable power device or splice them into the existing plug points. Would be useful to see a deeper dive on this when ou have the time. warmest regards Neil Jones

Hi Neil, yes I need to do a video showing some of the works I do because some people have asked. I am not an electrician but, I did my advance in city and guilds joinery which covered some electrical work. I have put a relay in from the power pack, so when the power pack is switched on it overrides other circuits and feeds all the plug sockets in the van. The extra sockets I fitted were spurred off from the kitchen front socket using special electrical connectors “ just for safety” also the circuit from the power bank, I put an extra circuit breaker again for safety. Saying all that the battery pack has a lot of safety features built in. The power bank is a no brainier for me, has a built in mppt controller and 2400w inverter with surge of 4000w and lithium battery. I am working on connecting my van Solar on a switch to power the power bank and also battery to battery charger to charge while driving. I will do a video when I do it. Hope this helps

Thank you for that insight. We hope to go over to France for the first time next year so it’s good to get an idea of costs when going over. Obviously they will be different costs but it gives an idea. We aim to start next year in France and build up confidence to try further afield. I like the look of Italy.

Hi Andrew, you would have to watch the full 8 episodes of our trip for the route, because I honestly can’t remember the route, but I can list the -places we went and everyone as fabulous. Started from Calai to Luxembourg on a camping AIRE on the episodes we give what three words so you can locate exact positions. Then to Riquewihr, then to Ribeauville, then to Eguisheim, then to Kaysersberg, then Colmar, then Titisee lake, then Triberg, then Nidwalden, then Interlaken, visited Grindlewald and cable cars up top of Jungfrau, while we were their we visited Lauterbrunnon. Off then to lake Annecy from there on to Antibes. 6 nights. Visited Nice, Cannes, Monaco, and Antibes centre. We then set off to Avignon from there to Dijon, then Trier. Sudden holt, decided because of the weather to come home. But you need to visit R hudesheim on the reim, Koblenz and Cologne. All these places are great places to visit, some are very pretty and old and some are landmarks you should enjoy. Hope this helps and have a fab trip. Sorry for the late reply, it’s been hectic today 😂😂

Hi Jim & Kay, well that was a comprehensive breakdown funnily enough Sarah and I keep a notebook of daily expenses when we do a big trip, our trip to frejus st Raphael cost a pretty centime inc the cat hotel on our return, just glad we don’t have the ferry expense on top anymore, back in 2012 the vignet was 70 Swiss franc so it’s gone down in price, the autoroutes have their place we drove N & D roads all the way down south but coming back we used the Autoroute most of the time to be honest it’s a lot less stressful than trying ‘not’ to speed on the N&D routes, 😊 and a lot quicker and dare I say it you can see more as well, not intimately like going through a pretty vill etc but panoramically the big view, are yo7 planning another over here next year ? Did the D-Day beaches on the 6th brilliant, couldn’t do all I wanted to do as security was tight, but a great long day out on the bike 🏍️ ….. in the sunshine 😎☀️ …. Pete🇫🇷

Hi Pete and Sarah, your back home then🙂 was it a good trip? The weather all over has been shocking, here in the northwest of the uk, it’s been mixed rain, sun, wind and also cold for this time of year. Yes we hope to either get over again later in the year to Rhudesheim if the weather permits. We have a cruise booked for September to Estonia, Norway and Sweden, hoping it’s not too cold. Kay booked it but didn’t realise it’s the colder region 😁😁 next year we are debating Canada on the mountaineer railway, maybe a small trip to France too, who knows, not sure yet. We are waiting for our drive away awning and hoping to take it away next Thursday to Clarksons Farm (diddly squat) got 4 nights there, so we can try it out and do another video. Anyway take care keep in touch 😀👍

Hi Jim and Kay yes we had a very chilled time, a bit disappointed, as it was the first time down south without the scooter only the leccy pushbikes we didn’t realise how few the cycle paths are there are quiet roads but they take you out your way to much, 🙁 of course with the scooter it’s never been a problem, we just did loads of walking and swimming instead. After you left to make your way to Avignon we had 2 damp days a couple of short showers per day on the 3rd Day it was biblical for 20 mins poured - stopped - sun out and we were back to sunshine again 😎☀️ sounds like you have some grande trips coming up look forward to them, your lucky £3500 when we did our 5 week tour in 2016 in our cathargo chic, it ended up costing us £70.000 that’s when we found this house, 😂😂😂😂😂 ….. Good Morning Jim & Kay. Debra and I have just found and subcribed to your channel and love it. This was after we thought about changing our Sunliving 6mr Motorhome to a Dreamer Select Ltd, like yours. We are due to go and see a 2021 model next week. Is there any negatives about the van or is all positive! Have you ever carried push bikes with this van and how did you transport them if you did? The change of Van has come upon after spending 2.5 weeks in France, our first time and we loved it. We just like the size of the van and the single beds! Any other advice and tips would be good. We will keep wathching your great videos and happy and Safe travels. John

Hi Debra and John, thank you for subscribing. We found we needed more plug sockets around the van, we keep the electrical appliances in the wardrobe instead of clothes, they really creased up in there, we use the lift up cupboard under the bed now for clothes because it’s huge. We have only carried the scooter ( you can’t access the back doors with this on board) but we access through the inside no problem. We leave the offside bed up when travelling to access drawers, cupboard and garage. The only negatives are the water gauges could be better. All positive from us. We hope our next video will be about all our extras and changes. 🤤👍
