I understand both sides. We have 0 plans of working on otters if passed. But I also like to see hard work rewarded and if people really want to work on them, go for it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t get to see them up close at Nationals. But did in 2023 they did look great.

Great clip, not all people even realize the dwarf gene in Polish (peanut) when we try to explain it I’ve gotten the response well they don’t even carry the dwarf gene so peanuts aren’t possible. We have shown Polish for 1.5 year and only just starting this past year in breeding. My daughter is a youth breeder/exhibitor (Rustic-Moon Rabbitry) I really liked this tho as we have dealt with some litters lately with “runts” as we call them to defer the comments about peanuts LOL

Yes, the dwarf gene now exists in almost any line of polish you can fund due to breeding in dwarfs for color variation and breed development. There are pros and cons to any breed’s development but overall the dwarf gene in Polish has been FAR less damaging than in NDs in my experience. Way more polish live than NDs. But it’s a consideration when making herd decisions!

Bucks’ testes don’t drop for a little while-you can’t see them as younger juniors so they can’t help you determine sex. As adults however, this is a clear sign. They are external and can be descended (full, cylindrical) or receded (shriveled skin).

I got a jersey wooly that was pregnant (the breeder didint tell me) and she gave birth in the middle of the night. All three kits where born dead, and big. I’ve seen people saying that it’s “normal” for the first time to be like this, but it was awful and I’m considering getting another breed.

It can be normal no matter what the breed for a doe to struggle the first time or two. Some does get it right away, but most have struggles off the bat. Including dead or scattered kits, bad nesting, or failure to care for them.

Honestly I highly recommend the EquaTat. I love the boldness. It never fades when using India Ink. And it’s affordable! You can get it by messaging EquaTat on Facebook which is a page I believe. On the other hand, I was pretty sure I have heard of people liking the inkinator. Just double check to make sure your needle isn’t dull or damaged and that you are using a great ink. Some inks need to be well shaken before use too. If it all checks out and still sucks, unfortunately you’ll need something else.

I got mine through Klubertanz along with all the other parts beside trays which were from Rabbit Tracks. Go to the Klubertanz Website. Click on Product Catalog. Click Browse. Scroll to the Ps and click on Plastic Door Liners. I ordered the 5ft pieces in purple (Z0). At the time they were $1.50/e and I got 20. Now they are $1.95/e. It was the perfect amount for me to line the interior cut for all 30 holes I built. You wanna do the math of course. The liners are very easy to cut using the wire cutters I also got from Klubertanz. Keep in mind if you are shipping, it is worth buying the shorter pieces because there is a higher fee for “long” packages in shipping. I got 5’ pieces because I picked up at a show. Best of luck!

I'd recommend an Equatat! I use to have a KBtat and it was terrible. Equatat works so well and I only have to go over 1-2 times. Customer service is amazing as well. If you have issues with tattoos flaking off it's because you are pressing to hard. I also use numbing spray, clean with an alcohol pad, and use a bit of vaseline before and after. For those who don't sit still, I flip them on their back.

Hi Elaine! I ordered my trays through Rabbit Tracks which is an equipment supplier in Midwest USA. I ordered over email and picked up at the Owatonna, MN show May 14th, 2022. I have never raised cavies, but with rabbits I know having the space I planned (6in) for the trays is ideal. Rabbits like to poop in one spot and it can build up so quickly. If that is not a concern, you can definitely make the gap smaller. I wouldn’t go under 4 inches however, as it gets cramped. Let me know if you have other questions. Thanks for watching!

Max factor bring in a good looking bunny but will have terrible healthy issue? Do I understand you correctly? So what would you do with a baby carrying Max factor ?
@amarahsrabbitry1073
@amarahsrabbitry1073 2 жыл бұрын
So let me explain-a rabbit that carries one recessive max factor gene will appear completely normal! However if both parents carry this recessive and pass it down, you can get kits who have 2 max factor genes, resulting in abnormalities and deformities. However some breeders claim that the max factor as a single recessive makes the carrier better in quality. I personally do not think that its worth it. So, I will avoid breeding two known carriers to reduce deformed kits.

@@amarahsrabbitry1073 how do you know when a bunny has max factor genes?
@amarahsrabbitry1073
@amarahsrabbitry1073 Жыл бұрын
@@giovana4789 The only way to know is through breeding… you get a Max kit when BOTH parents carry the recessive Max Factor gene. There is no other way to really know except through test breeding. Problem is, if one parent has the gene they can pass that recessive gene down silently to some of their offspring, even if the other parent doesn’t carry it.

I have two does they are sisters from the same litter one, ticklelick, is smaller than miss bean she also has a more squished face and short ears she has produced smaller framed bunnies and a lot more which makes some smaller not because they are peanut bc there is a lot that some don’t get as much nutrients. miss bean produced smaller to perfect size litters her first was 2 (one was a peanut I believe he died at three weeks) and her second (recent) had four babies she gives birth to large fat healthy bunny’s that tend to have rounder faces but not squished and small to medium ears they are broader framed but still quite small (abit bigger than ticklelicks babies)

They are both true dwarves, but one is just a bit smaller and maybe typier! Sometimes the smaller typier does can be more difficult to get good litters out of. If she is SIGNIFICANTLY smaller, she may have been a runt. But she should still have the capability of feeding her babies, they are probably just smaller too!
