I'm 56 years old now and I don't mind admitting so laugh away to your hearts content, but I'm sat here right now and the tears are streaming down my face and I just can't stop them no matter how hard I try. They've killed this place!! This place I loved sooooo much when it was Wallis' I was only a bairn when I 1st went on holiday here with my family and every year my mam would ask "do you not want to try somewhere different this year?" I never did.... for years and years, I never did!! I can't even begin to explain the plethora of emotions I have for Wallis' My 1st kiss. My 1st time hearing an army of Scots people with funny voices (and I'm from Sunderland. I know, get your head around that one eh). I remember everything and it sounds rediculous I know, but I can even remember how Stage 3 smelt, and Alladins Cave. The wood barrel on the top playpark that you got on top of instead of inside. Health & safety would have a field day on that one alone. Hiring chopper bikes, oh Christ does anyone remember Uncle Derek? No electricity or toilets or showers in them caravans. Gas mantles for light and Izal toilet paper in the toilet block that was ( no it REALLY WAS, tracing paper that almost shredded your ass out). Year by year by year I grew up there. Then I was old enough to get a 18 passport to get in the big club, Club rendezvous and drink and play pool while watching movies like the Wanderers and the Worriors. Stage 3 disco as a kid... just sitting there eyeballing all these gorgeous girls.... in tank tops and flares. If your around 56 years old, female, and went to Wallis' every year as a kid up to a young adult then thank you for getting me through puberty!! God I could write a book here, I haven't even began to scratch the surface. I'm glad I found this, sort of. You broke my heart with this video, but I thank you deeply for making me remember how much I adore my my parents god rest their souls. I'm still crying here btw

First stay 2019. Loved it so much. Off again next month with the family and dogs. Lovely place.

I went there when it was called Wallis holiday park most of our family holidays where there in the 1970s as kids we loved it. There used to be a massive club just over road called the pavilion only for adults. While us kids were entertained by patsy and bernie. Brilliant kids entertainment the place where kids entertainment was called the ok corral. Gas lights in caravan and got water from tap outside. Fish and. Chip shop sold the best fish and chips ever. Amusements were in a wooden big shed. We loved the place.

I’ve been once about 6 years ago, never coming back. We got told we had a platinum caravan, there was no fireplace or radiators, the windows were as thin as ice.

Was a while back we was at crows nest, one block but large with plenty of facilities, clean and also laurdery room.

@@odysseybyap941 Thanks for your quick reply. Ive been to a few sites around that area but never crows nest and everywhere booked up for next week except for a few left at crows nest so Il go for it and let you know how it is now 👍🏼👍🏼

We just go back from sunnydale we really enjoyed being there. We took our tourer. Quite site, basic shop food was good. No entertainment or pool due to the virus will be going back.

We did love it too! But it is good to go to other places, it was great in August as it was hot. glad you enjoyed it but would recommend other places as the're is a lot of beautiful places, with plenty to do, to make happy memories.

@@odysseybyap941 I know the whole world is in quarantine (lockdown) because of the coronavirus, but I hope it ends in June or July cause in June my mother's part of the family are supposed to be going to mablethorpe and August I'm supposed to be going back to Cayton bay but I don't know if we are going to mablethorpe or not but I don't think you would be interested in what I said about mablethorpe

been to different islands of greece. santorini, mykonos, zakynthos. always had a full day road trip and i have to say... these islands where great. next up is crete. looking forward to it.

We go to golden sands 2 Times a year it is a great place FUNWORKS is my favorote place at golden sands The Fun Fair has a waltzers and I Love The Waltzers

hightower murphy we went to this hotel for two weeks and we loved crete we stayed all inclusive, we had a great view from our room as u can see from photo the room is basic but if you are like us its only to sleep in as we did alot of excursions and wanted to see the island, the hotel is in a great location if you want to this. Its not a 5 star but you pay for what you get we got a really great deal so couldn't complain, entertainment wasn't fantastic and was the same each week, my daughter loved the childrens disco. holidays is what you make of it , my daughter was in the pool most days and the beach is not far, and if you like to eat out restaurants not to far u can get the bus outside your hotel. Would we go back to this hotel yes!

Odyssey byA/P thanks for replying, were going for 10 days all inclusive and had read reviews about poor food and drink choice. Never been to crete before so looking forward to experiencing it.

hightower murphy the food after 2 weeks could be repetitive but we never had a empty plate and we went to eat out some nights just so it broke up the the weeks eating in the same place for your breakfast, lunch , dinner. But we found the food was fine i also read all the bad reviews and i think somtimes people just have high expectations, as i said before if you want 5 star like to complain alot then this hotel isn't for you, however if you make the most of every holiday and love to explore then this hotel could be for you.

hightower murphy sorry! i don't know we don't drink vodka or cider we like our wine, i do know you could get ouzo, their is a list of drinks you can have on the all inclusive at the bar. we have been to alot of hotels all inclusive and its all the same when it comes to drinks somtimes we have had some hotels do cocktails. Im sure u will be fine for drinks and if u wanted to buy some its not expensive.

on watching video of camp site you will see kids playing at top left side, why, because the site has nothing, lots of shots of fruit machines, there are lots of those taking up most of building, the show bar, video of a visiting act for kids, the staff are good as well in kids shows, but honestly that is it, caton bay is a family holiday except for the kids shows by staff, but that is it, the start and end of holiday, but you will manage to read in peace a good few books,

Please note the beach is not a part of caton bay resort or park, it is located across a Road and down a lane, the beach is not busy as people go into Scarborough where there is a fair and good big beach, caton bay video has to linger on the camp site for some reason, then lingers on amusement arcade where a fortune is spent by kids, they then have to linger on the adventure play groung and pool, that is it, nothing else, so if adults love watching kids shows, ( they are good ) or play in adventure playground then caton bay is for you, but take a TV , video, and to be sure of more to do take a computer, do not rely on Wi-Fi. it is not good or dependable, ask the caravan owners, or anyone, its just another let down at CATON BAY resort

David Nisbet park resorts is a family resort, we filmed around the campsite for all the people who like to go camping, as you can only camp on site in august. also filmed the arcade as children love to play in the arcades, sorry you feel this way about Cayton Bay, as a family we had a great time. So would like to say to anyone who would like to go make your own mind up and make the most of your holiday.

You will have to admit, there are kids shows, (good) amusements arcade loads of machines, (loads) camping side is also good no staff, you had a great time, doing what, going out the camp to Scarborough and other good places, or out the site to beaches, what was done on site, shows , yes for kids and they are good thanks to the staff who do a good job on stage, be honest what was good, laying about all day watching TV as there was nothing to do on site, maybe you were loaded and spent all day playing fruit machines, because that is about it.

David Nisbet I am an owner at cayton and if you stay past 9 it’s for adults so ye also adults can do karaoke it has changed a lot come again the boathouse is bigger now

CATON BAY NOTHING THERE MOST OF TIME, BEACH IS ACROSS RD NOT ON SITE, AS VIDEO MAKES OUT, IF NOT A OWNER YOU NEED PASSES, FOR 4 DAYS COST US £40 AND KIDS STILL HAD TO PAY £3 EACH TO GO SWIMMING, ASKED WHAT PASSES WERE FOR, FOR US IT WAS TO GET ACCESS TO GET A MEAL, HONESTLY THAT WAS IT, CATON BAY IS A PLACE TO AVOID, ITS PART OF PARKDEAN RESORTS, IF NOT A CARAVAN OWNER YOU GET IGNORED AND ALLOWED NOTHING, PLEASE AVOID FOR YOUR OWN GOOD. SCARBOROUGH

Sorry! You didn't like this park, we went camping and had a great time we did get our passes in with the price of the holiday the passes was for swimming and night entertainment, the beach is a walk away as shown by photos on video to the beach. but as we don't mind walking so it wasn't a problem. We do the videos just for you to get some idea of what to expect we like to take photos of the different places we visited. We are not professional and we are not trying to sell you holiday.

for a holiday park there is a lot thats bad, only owners are respected and family, you are spoke to and treated badly if you are a holiday maker, your nan is a owner and even you can see that there are terrible things there and bad treatment, I am sorry your nan has her caravan at caton bay, there are a lot better sites close by where you are treated good all the time and there are things to do, unlike caton bay where there is nothing, bet you have a well used TV

camping yes, that part was nice, all tents were being put up, I think it was scouts, they were making their own entertainment, you got passes included, we did not, 4 nights we were meant to stay, our passes was £40 and kids had to pay swimming £3 each that was even for a 4 year old disabled child, went into entertainment bar as new nothing about site, just to get in door at amusement arcade cost the £40 as security stopped us going in, could not get in for meal or anything reception pointed out to get passes, in entertainment hall loads of children with parents and friends, no seats or tables, the staff on stage were doing a great job and enjoying themselves , a lot of tables and chairs empty on right, tried to use stopped by security, asked if owner said NO, told not allowed to use area as reserved for owners only, explained, disabled and had traveled for over 5 hours and unable to stand any longer, was moved out area and told NO you can not use, not a owner, there were a good few things like this, even our mail was opened next day, could not get name off by whom or even why. 2 days there and could write a book with faults. just a fraction of why we are angry, first break in 15 years for this treatment.
